| Using 3.1.4 OS, how can I get Games/Demos to display through the DIGITAL-VIDEO port? Using Picasso, have many modes available through ScreenMode, even got my workbench screen to work great using DIGITAL-VIDEO but all games/demos still use the RGB port. screenmode seems to prefer PAL settings over the vampire settings. I have Vampiregfx settings for 640x400 and 640x480 but amigaos seems to always pick the default PAL settings over my vampiregfx settings. Thanks

It does depend on how the demo / game was coded. Was the game demo coded for PAL? Then they will show up on Amiga V1200 RGB out.

this is how it is meant to be, WHDLoad games will always use the Amigas native RGB output as they run on the Amigas chipset. The reason Workbench and other programs work using the Vampires output is because they use a system called RTG. RTG cannot do the work of the Amigas custom chips so only newer RTG aware games will use this. Not ideal but there are ways to make this less of a hassel. for instance if your using a A500 or A600 then you can use the new PI H.D.M.I adapter and a monitor with 2 inputs or if its a 1200 an indivision with a DVI to H.D.M.I adapter and a monitor with 2 inputs.

| Thanks for explaining this, that helps. I was under the impression that the Vampire 1200 board could output all video to DIGITAL-VIDEO. I already own an indivision MK3 but it does not output any resolution over 640x480 reliably. I was very impressed at how much better the DIGITAL-VIDEO functions on the vampire, with no issues displaying up to 1280x720 resolution. Guess I will give up on the vampire DIGITAL-VIDEO and go back to the indivision board.

| there is no reason you cant use both... the Vamp for RTG stuff workbench, Doom, Quake, Diablo, Tyrian ect ect and the Indivision for WHDload games... honestly its what most Vampire users do.

I now have the Vampire 1200 configured to use RTG via DIGITAL-VIDEO and my Indivision MK3 also using DIGITAL-VIDEO. I would like for my dual imput monitor to autosense which port display from. When I display legacy content, the vampire hdmi seems to completely shutdown and my monitor then will select the hdmi out from the Indivision MK3....Works great... BUT, it not switch back to the RTG mode once the Indivision shuts down. Is there any fix for this? Thanks

| Hi Jeremy, if your monitor is not capable of autoswitching, you can perhaps use this: EXTERNAL LINK I use it and it's just a short button press instead of going through a hundred monitor setup menus. ;-)

The reason could be that the Indivision or the RGB-output in general always produces a black picture instead of NO picture. Another reason could be the OSD of the Indivision, perhaps turn it off in the settings ...

| Thanks for the suggestion, but turning off the OSD did not resolve the issue. I think the Indivision always displays black so no matter what monitor I used, the monitor will not automatically select the input which is a real shame. Is there a driver or software package that can do this? Thanks

| Yep, it's been a few years now and I too am still looking for the ideal auto-switching solution between RGB>Hdmi and VampRTG-Hdmi without any button press. Not trivial! Anyone?

I'm using a Ratte Switch with my V1200 and Indivision MK3 and this works very well for auto-switching between Amiga (RGB) & Vampire (RTG).

What switch is that? DO you have a model number please?

| Thinking about ditching the MK3 and going with an external RGB to DIGITAL-VIDEO scandoubler. Anybody have a recommendation?

I would definately keep the MK3, it has the best quality picture plus a built-in flickerfixer too for Amiga laced resolutions unless you like the flickering. Your best option would be to modify a DIGITAL-VIDEO switcher like in the following link, I've done it and it works great. EXTERNAL LINK

| I came up with a nice solution that I thought i would share. I removed the Indivision video adapter and used a 23pin to VGA adapter cable to plug into some compatible dell monitors that would scan at 15khz. The Dell monitors are able to display the Amiga 15Khz signal AND switch automatically to the RTG output of the Vampire automatically as needed. Since these monitors are somewhat older I had to use a HDMi to DVI cable. I tested the following monitors. Dell P2010H autoswitching of inputs takes only 2 seconds Dell P2310H autoswitching to RGB takes 10 seconds but back to HMDI is nearly instant Dell P2410H autoswitching does not work but display is beautful Hope this info helps someone.

| Maybe someone can build a WinUAE for a vampirized Amiga without emulating the processor and sound, just emulating a graphics chipset. The software running in the emulator would then run on the RTG image output without switching the monitor inputs on a standard PC monitor.
