| Just a silly question that no internet search could answer to me so far. I don't really know how to disable Roadshow in order to use Miami instead. I looked for it in the startup sequence but either it slipped my attention or the solution can be found elsewhere. Can anybody help?

| You could also Disable the network startup lines in both the S:Startup-Sequence and if it exists in S:User-Startup for the beginning and then alter it for Miami. Coffin should also have netshutdown command Easiest way is to rename libs it has installed, but note that Roadshow if registered is twice fater and updated, as well as its resource-friendly (taking less % then any other TCP/IP on Amiga). Roadshow is 25e, but far better investment then some "Ehhancers" EXTERNAL LINK

After my Vampire, Roadshow is the second best amiga purchase I have made. It's the best TCP/IP stack by far and well worth the outlay.

Even though it might be 2x fast the SPI interface will limit that unless you are using a zorro based network card. For me Miami is fast enough and works well. I do really wish CoffinOS had a first boot option to allow you to choose to keep roadshow or disable it.. its really annoying to those of us who opt to NOT use it.

Annoying though, it really should be the reverse ,-- if you want roadshow, download the installer, run the Install option, quick and easy.

Well, then people would complain there is no TCP/IP stack. Compromise is to include Uninstall WITH Coffin (Coffin dude, do you read this?) or selectable install of Roadshow demo / Genesi full / MiamiDX full as well as selectable configs for V500+ LAN solution and V4 LAN driver when avail.

Easier just to not have to bother with that.. AFAIK the installer isnt on the CoffinOS install so then you need to find a means to either get your network working (problematic because thats just the thing we are trying to fix) or find some alternative way to download the thing elsewhere and shlep it over to the amiga (annoying at best, aggravating at worst). Roashshow should be a opt-in thing, not a huge PIA to pry out after the fact thing.. at a minimum the Coffin guys should at least leave the installer in the distro so its way easier to at least get rid of it ..

| Thanks for all the replies guys, i appreciate it. In fact i plan to buy Roadshow and support any further development but for now i'm just trying to explore my freshly installed Vampire and for the time being, i want to try Miami just like with every other Amiga i've had. What startup sequence lines do i have to add for Ethernet support? I know how to configure it for use with pcmcia cards but i lack any information regarding ethernet and Coffin.

| Coffin have the roadshow virus the popup saying that the 10 minutes trial ended always appear in the middle of my whdload play session. best method to remove it is editing the startup sequence and getting rid of it. or downloading the roadshow installer it have an uninstall icon that remove all the packages. it could be cool that the uninstaller could be included in future versions of apollo-os

And how is that for Ethernet? I know how it can be done for pcmcia wifi cards but mine is an A500 and it's the first time i deal with this. What additions/changes should i make for Miami to work with ethernet. Miami is installed and configured properly already but i think i'm missing something that is needed in the S-S. Any help will be much appreciated!
