"Rise" is AGA only - and we have separate thread for that here - CLICK HERE . Tried it already, unfortunately does not work properly yet with the AGA cores I tested.

| BONUS! "Dolor Sit Amet" (2016, as Lorem Ipsum)
EXTERNAL LINK Footnotes: 1. Lorem Ipsum was Elude's one-time alias, used only in this demo. 2. I noticed that this demo looks somewhat different than on AGA/MorphOS (missing colour gradient on some scenes) - and it outputs this message: "ERROR: No support for 5bpl rendering in CGX backend" - I think it's safe to blame Picasso96 itself for only partial CGX support :) 3. This is how it should look like:
Still, even with no gradients it's worth watching as it runs so smoothly on 68080/GOLD2.7. Enjoy!

| I'm sorry to ask - it is probably a stupid question - but I do not understand the following: Why do this great demos not interpolate the graphics in a better way - as the vampire has much better options to display them? Drawing a line with AGA/RTG should be smoother on the Vampire when displayed on higher resolution... or what do I miss?

| >Why do this great demos not interpolate the graphics in a better way It is because those early demos only use the RTG screen as a frame buffer = I mean the code draw each pixelIt would be different if coders used an higher level way of drawing like using Warp3D or StormMesa or MiniGL

These demos were written before the Vampire even existed. They know nothing of the Vampire's capabilities.

| You probably dont follow nowdays demoscene. You would then know there are actually two main categories for Amiga platform one is oldschool which is 68000/OCS/512k and second is newschool which is 68060/AGA/64MB. If you make PowerPC demo or Warp3D support, it does not fit to newschool and organizers will move your demo to "Wild compo" which is common for all platforms (PS1, PS2, xbox, gba, linux, mac, wii, ...). Back to topic, Skipp you do wonderful job here. Please keep it up!

| Thanks a lot for all these answers. Question for the newschool demos 68060/AGA/64B -> if written in asm, wouldn't it be cool to run them in a higher anti-aliasing mode? I don't know if and how this could be possible - but just an idea...

| Well, I think the Vampire 2 with the GOLD 3 core could establish a new "baseline" just like the 68060/AGA/64MB before it. The Vampire 4 with AGA/512MB could be another baseline above that. It all depends if the demo scene picks it up or not. Who knows, but they are a small minority of users. The nice thing with the Vampires is they present a fairly level playing field - everyone will have the same configuration.

| No they will not change to Vampire soon. But very often the framerate on 060 is like 15fps, but as I can see on Vampire its like 35-50. So Vampire users will enjoy full speed of that demos.

| Vampire is another jump in Amiga world and it's incredible popular. Look at Vampire queue list. I think it will be natural Amiga scene way, but first Vampire must be done. I mean coder must know what Vampire can do, all instructions must be listed, all features enabled and working correctly. People must know target HW to use it :)

Unlikely they will. I get the impression there is a fair amount of prejudice from the demo scene community towards the Vampire for various reasons. Anyway I couldn't care less. While they turn out some impressive pieces of art (as seen above), the demo scene isn't the be it and end all to software development. I'd rather see media, internet and productivity applications being developed....if that will ever happen. I would rather spend more time on my Amiga's than on my spyware filled Windows 10 PC tracking every move I make.

There is also nothing stopping a Vampire centric compo/demo event from happening.. Just time and effort I suppose .. could be interesting to attract some demos that utilize the hardware.. While you might not attract the "big names" I bet you would still see some very good entries and perhaps its time to disrupt that whole scene anyway.

| If you read this Britelite; I apologize constantly using you as an example. Britelite has raised his personal reservations regarding the dirction of the Apollocore, but unlike some forum posters, he doesnt reject it by default. He even says he will consider it if the potential issue of timings are ensured to not be a problem. While some might say that its not Apollos job to cater for whatis basically one mans spare time hobby project of creating demos/digital art, its atleast worthwhile to respectfully hear him out. Espesially since many of us keep asking for demosceners to create for our platform. Britelite had a very nice and respectful exchange on a.org, and I think its worth understanding peoples perspectives depend on what they use hardware for. Britelite has constantly developed demos and been part of the demoscene. Its funny that someone thats very active codingwise is very chilled out, as compared to those that are not coding/developing, but presents themselves as to speak on behalf of said scene... | I think a few people are confused and afraid of incompatibilities for no real technical reason. The reality is as simple as this: APOLLO does support all CPU and FPU instructions of 68030, 68040 and 68060 CPUs. This means _ALL_ software that runs on 68030, or 68040, or 68060 will run correctly on APOLLO. That APOLLO in addition does support some new instruction like AMMX, is a bonus - which improves Workbench render speed, improves SDL game speed, improves JPEG decoding speed, and improves VIDEO playback. But it does not create any drawbacks.
