Its a bit hard to find the relevant info, so i will ask here instead.

I wish to sample sounds onto an Amiga and get that authentic Paula sound, but i dont want to do vintage hardware computing. Arne should be good for this use case!

So i will need MIDI  in and out. How do i achieve this on a Vampire v4 standalone? I will also need audio in and out. Can i for an example use the open Aniga sampler?  If yes, how?

Will Octamed run just fine on a Vampire v4 standalone?

      Thank you.

yes you can just use any Amiga modplayers

Some player even support the 16 audio channels of the V4 cards.
Milky Tracker for example.

The V4 has audio out, but no audio in.
With the V4 Ultimate Expansion Board, you will have a Midi port.

Audio in is a must, any plan to get that in the standalone? When will more expansion boards be produced?

I can see why you want Audio-in.
If you want to create and record new samples then you either need Audio in - or you need to have a way to create samples outside the Amiga and copy to the Amiga.

The professional Amiga musicians that I know today do have a setup where they combine MAC, PC, YAMAHAs, and AMIGA...
And the all use the 2nd way of doing this. The people that I know have a high end music setup where they record samples with their favorite tools e.g. on MAC and add the wanted effects as reverb to them and then copy the samples to Amiga...

You can very easily connect Amiga with MAC or PC over network and drag and drop over between them.

In theory you could on the V4 ... use USB samples to get Audio in ..
But I'm not sure if this would be used very often as the professional Amiga Musicions that I know all work over network.
