I have some problems using the IDE controller on my V1200. Maybe I’m missing something, but I can’t think of what that would be. I have tried several different Compact Flash cards together with several different adapters. They all work fine on the internal IDE controller of the A1200, but when plugging them into the V1200 IDE controller I experience problems. The problems I experience are that for some CF cards, I am able to partition and format it and also write to it, but as soon as I try to read anything from it (like booting workbench) I receive random errors and crashes. For some other CF cards I am able to partition/format write and read some smaller files, but when trying to start bigger programs from the disk they randomly crash upon start. Sysinfo is also unable to run the speed tests on the drive when it is running from V1200 IDE, it crashes the system. I have tried the above with two different Amiga OS installations, (OS 3.2 and OS 3.2.1), in all cases I have had the correct ROM flashed to the Vampire. I have tried my V1200 on two different A1200 motherboards, 2B and 1D.4 (both recapped) and the problems I encounter are the same I have also tried running the V1200 IDE controller at different speeds using the vcontrol command, I still experience the same problems I have tried both using the latest core (2.15 Gold) aswell as the one that was shipped with the V1200 (2.13). The problems I experience are the same The V1200 with OS 3.2.1 (and OS 3.2) works really great when I use the internal IDE connector on my A1200. I find no other problems with the V1200 card, except for the internal IDE controller. Am I missing something very simple?
