SD Slot Problem

Hi,
  I have made a mistake with the cables for network module, and it looks like I have fried the SD reader...somehow
  Is there any way to check if the SD slot stil works?
  It's also possible that I have just broken the slot sometime earlier without knowing it.

EDIT:
It's broken for sure, is it possible to send it for check and repairs?
