| Hi, I recently received my Vampire 1200 and was wondering if it's possible to use it on my amiga 4000 with an adapter. since the amiga 4000 and 1200 hardware are almost identical, I don't see a reason why its not possible. Any ideas where to start? Is anyone working on an adapter? Are there any risk of destroying the card or motherboard? I know that this question has been asked few times in the past 5 years but I still couldn't find a dedicated thread discussing this matter.

| Yes you are right A4000 and A1200 are very close and in theory V1200 might also work in A4000. We plan to test this our selves but with current post chaos this testing was delayed.

| makes me think, if that will work... what would be better? to redesign the vampire to fit into the CPU slot of the A4000, or to make an adapter... technically, redesigning it to go into the cpu slot, I think, but with an adapter, one could just develop an adapter that lets you use an already existing product

Yes that would be nice cause then you open the possibility to it working in an A3000 too.. Something I would love to add to mine.

| I also ! for A4000 and A3000 although I would prefer a new V5 4000 with a much more powerful FPGA CPU and with much more ram I'd buy two cards

| I think cyclone 5 is the ultimate fpga for the amiga, I doubt apollo team will go for a more powerful fpga in near future. There is stull much can be done with cyclone 5, cpu boost and much more. I think the team is more concerned in getting cores more optimized rather than thinking of doing a more powerful fpga. or alteast getting cyclone 5 for amiga 500 and 600. I understand your point, its nice to dream of a more powerful fpga ;-) but id rather go for 100% compatibility and support before considering this big step

Can I ask what date you registered interest. Just to get some rough ball park of what date they are up to. Thanks

| I registered interest in 23rd of December, and a card was allocated in mid-January if that helps
