| Hello :) I have two issues with my V1200, and am looking for some support/help/advice please :) 1. Wobbly Screen I got my V1200 with the original core (2.11 i think) and after flashing it to 2.12, the screen has a "wobble" like a Mexican wave going down the screen, or the start of a dream sequence from a movie. The machine is recapped, i am using a 200W SFF PSU, so it's not power, the image was rock solid with 2.11, it just since flashing it. I have tried 2 other Amigas, and several displays, and it's still there. When trying other machine i have, that also Vampirised, the image is rock solid. Can anyone advise? it's really starting to spoil the experience. 2. Missing RAM Sometimes after playing a game, or running an application of somekind, when i quite back to the desktop, WB tells me i only have 64MB, and not 128MB. It's always fixed with a reboot though. is this normal? thanks

Regarding the wobble, strange that it wasn't there before. I had wobbly picture issues on any monitor including LCD screens ans CRT's like the 1084S until I added resistors to my RGB cable as described here: EXTERNAL LINK Regarding the memory, I have seen similar issues after running ScummVM, my 128mb is suddenly down to 8mb. Never worried about it, not sure if I should :-)

| Thanks for taking the time to reply :) I have tried several different RGB/SCART cables, several monitors, a few CM883's a couple of 1084's a few other older televisions with SCART etc. The wobble is always there. The same SCART cable, when used with my A600 with a V2 in it, is perfectly still. I have noticed that the V1200 is faster after flashing to 2.12, with 2.11 being the one that came stock. with 2.11 the image is rock solid, I am wondering if the V1200 has been pushed faster, and maybe it's got something to do with this. The memory thing is strange, although sorted with a reboot.

| So, i modded a SCART cable, and i have to say, the image quality is steadier and better, not fixed completely, but you can only see it if you really look for it, so that's great news. happy with that. thanks. If only we knew about the memory thing? to be fair, i don't think it's a Vampire issue, as i have an Apollo 1260, with 2*32Mb SIMMs, and sometimes, after running a particular app, it falls back to workbench with 32mb, not 64Mb !!

| Can you tell me how your A1200 is constructed. I mean what is all connected? The wobble comes on RGB, right? In which screenmode does it come? Does it also comes e.g. in Early Boot Menu?

AmigaOS is quite bad with allocating back memory, I believe. Not solved so far.Even in OS4 improved memory mumbo jumbo and 2GB RAM it tends to simply eat away RAM during use, more and more. Older and non WB badly written apps tended to do more so. Libs and fonts also tend to remain resident once called. Avail flush was AmigaDOS command to get some memory back (by flushing unused libs and fonts - not completely), and I am sure there are far better Aminet tools. If AmigaOS fails to see memory on boot, that's not a good thing. But if I understand you well, it happens during the use.
