| hello, I see that there is no dedicated audio output but there is a way to add a d.a.c passing through io header 2 but the box does not provide for the integration of this extension, why did you miss a basic dedicated audio output for the Vampire standalone V4 ? thanks

| Because you can take it from TV to Hi Fi, and seems simpler not to have RCAs or similar. Additionaly, there are mid-splitters if your TV does not provide this. Simply, today, as in ZX48 days, its simplest too hook to TV. Those who want more, are able to do it.Also, see expansion section. There even might be more options: PCM5102A DAC Decoder Board Can be used to output analog audio from the Vampire through RCA audio jacks. Must be connected to the Expansion Port using female-to-female jumper wires like these ones.

| Yes of course but if we consider the vampire as a computer for example and so connected to a screen and not to a tv, you do not have sound. Fortunately we can use a DAC as I reported in my post but unfortunately the box was not intended for. The amiga has RCA connectors, a PC has jack connectors but the vampire has nothing to dedicate, some people don't want to have a vampire behind a simple TV ;) In short the only solution is the DAC with the vampire and her case open....

| Simple answer - They assumed most people would hook it up to a TV.

There are other cases coming out...

Most of modern monitors have speakers too and DIGITAL-VIDEO carries out sound

| @Gunnar von Boehn yes but if I take the dac, I can not have the RCA in front because the holes are not provided And I’m looking at the vampire a little bit more so I don’t just put it on a TV, so I’m waiting for a case that’s more suitable for the Vampire’s upcoming extensions ;) Let’s hope that the vampire will not be limited by its own case and that we will see very quickly on the market of boxes more open to an extended vampire thanks

There are many cases for the Vampire on the market. From checkmate, crystal glass case, to A1200 case ... Pick the one you like most.

Just stumbled on video where Renaud Schweingruber displays use of PCM5102A Analog DAC EXTERNAL LINK Hope it helps.

| Hi, helps not really, we need a Pinout for Customer Version that was sell on A34, Renaud has a Developer Board with extra pin header in Front of the expansion Board. This Pin Header is not on A34 Version. I have Buy this Module and can not use it without Pinout for Expansion wiring.

| We will release Pinout very soon. Maybe even also a ready to use Expansion module, you just plug into one port. Please stay tuned - development of it is in process.

| Firstly, thanks for the good work on the accelerators and software! Really awesome to see the progress that is currently being made! (also very much looking forward to the GOLD3 branch becoming stable in order to have a coherent video output for OCS/ECS and (S)AGA - and not having to mess with both RGB/composite (native) and DIGITAL-VIDEO (Vamp) at the same time!) I just wanted to quickly chime in on this topic; as I would certainly be interested in more information on the audio connectivity possibilities for the V4SA. I know the decision was probably taken based on the majority of users routing both audio & video over DIGITAL-VIDEO to (or via) a TV, but in certain scenarios -- such as hooking up to a PJ (after all, Amigas deserve the best;) and on receivers which do not have DIGITAL-VIDEO inputs, an RCA or even a Toslink/optical or coax audio option would be very nice indeed. (Nor sure how much extra cost+complexity this would have added to the board.) Obviously I could get around this by using the *V1200 Vamp*, but it does not appear to be available in V4. In any case it would be good to be able to use the Pamela chipset -- as although Paula certainly is nice (wonderful in fact) -- she is basically from 1985. ;) And for someone who has to sit a couple of meters away from the actual machine, the USB keyboard and mouse inputs on the standalone would probably (hopefully) be better than using adapters on CIA and on the DB9 ports for wireless connectivity... (which I currently use on a 1D rev. board, and which does in fact work quite well)

Is this likely to work on a V2 600 vampire with a SDNET Adapter EXTERNAL LINK

| Hello, it is my first post in the forum, sorry about my English. This way to use DAC will be very cool. Just a suggestion, you can sell one version of the standalone v4+ without case, like some SBC, and the user can use the case of his preference. It will helpfull for the users that can add more Expansion boards using the i2c plug, like DACs, Leds, etc.... changing focus, Is there any datasheet for the board. What about the 68080? As soon as possible I intend to buy a standalone V4+ and go back to writing programs for Amiga.

If you visit Apollo-Computer website EXTERNAL LINK There you can get some nice overview of the board and the ports.

If you go in our Website to the Top, there you can find a "Coding" tap with subtaps. There you will find documentation of the CPU instructions and how to use them, and also a list of Amiga Chipset registers with documentation what they do. You can also find there code snippets and sample programs. Does this help you or do you look for something else?

Thank you for answer, the instructions will be very helpful. Just to know, do you have a SDK for using with C ANSI or C++ for serious game production? asm is powerful and cool, but is less productive for a big project. I am a very long time away from the Amiga world, and plan now go back. I plan to make games like this EXTERNAL LINK Best regards,
