| Hello, Can I connect two IDE drives to my 500 V2? And is there any drawback to it :-) Thanks!

| You can, but then FastIDE will be disabled. I use an Elbox 4XEIDE adapter so at least it is buffered and a little more smooth.

FastIDE has 4 speeds 0/1/2/3 Most 2 drive setups can run safely up to speed 1 Which is ~ 6MB/sec Speed 2/3 are recommended for single drive only

| Now I’m wondering what speed I’m running on with a single drive. How can I find out?

| Using two drives is not Vampire related. The functionality depends on the brand of the CF card and CF-IDE adapter. All of them does not work. You may (or may not) have a better luck with the traditional 2.5" hard drives. EXTERNAL LINK
