| Ok quick question for the v4 SA testers/developers - what’s the max resolution supported by board? I’m planning to try to make the V4 into a laptop/portable and need to know what resolution lcd panel I should look for... Thanks!

| For the PAL mode your monitor need to support 576p screenmode with audio, otherwise it should be a similar with the V2. Ideal screenmode for the RTG WB would be a 960x540x16@50MHz. You can make higher modes with the Picasso96mode program, but more pixels + bitdepths reserves more bandwidth from the memory.

| Could SAGA do 1280×400 @ 72Hz or 800×600 @ 72Hz (hope 16-bit) at least for productivity - used to be called DoublePAL I believe. Hope modern LCD monitors do count as "multisync" by old standards :) Question of preserving eyes, I believe 50-60Hz is bad on long run and I have quite few eye issues.

| PAL, NTSC and RTG are supported. You can also set Picasso96 to 31kHz mode for the audio.

| Ok so something like a 1920x720 or an 800x600 panel would probably be good then? Obviously I’ll be coming off the hdmi port so would need something that takes that as an input.

| That's smoother than I remember, is it 080 optimized or just a lower resolution than other (older) videos?

V4 should be faster but I don't believe it is RTG. The screenshot looks like 256 colors only so there is still color reduction slowdown...

All videos on this thread are from Vampire 4 Standalone. We don't have 080 optimized Quake2 yet, but big thanks for Bebbo's effort for GCC, who knows what future brings. I have made two Q2 videos, both are ran default reso (320x200) on AGA. TBH I don't remember which Q2 exe this was. Most important thing was make sure that AGA works on this point of Standalone bring-up. Core was x11. EXTERNAL LINK This latest one is AmiQuake2 exe from NovaCoder and core runs on x16 ratio: EXTERNAL LINK

| Thanx for clarifying Simo, so it's the clock speed difference that makes the last one smoother. Cool

Was the price announced? or are you just speculating on the price?

| That's the price that Vesalia is showing on their 'preorder, gauging interest' page for the V4SA. As it says on the page, this is an estimated price and is subject to change. EXTERNAL LINK Nice thing is that if you're in the USA, they remove the VAT so the price is lower than it shows...

| Yup! Personally the minute I have a V4SA and know it’s working ok I plan on selling off all my vintage HW. Getting fed up with dealing with flaky 2 A1200 that doesn’t really work, Blizzard 1230, an old OCS A500 (at least it’s fairly usable with the vampire in it), and all the various accessories. They take up way too much space in my condo. I’ve dumped well over $1k into that stuff and haven’t been all that excited with it once I got it due to the issues I’ve had (particularly with the A1200s). It’s like people who want the old vintage Supercars vs the new ones. Old ones might be “worth” the same as the cost of the new ones. Personally I’d much rather have the new one with higher performance and better capabilities and reliability and ability to source parts vs the old ones that are “nostalgic” but are horrible to drive and can be outperformed by a modern Honda Civic...they are museum pieces, not drivers anymore. Starting to feel similarly about the original Amigas - nice to have to look at and experience from time to time but far from daily use machines anymore and becoming far too expensive to maintain. Much rather have the V4SA as a new modern hardware Amiga....

Did you ever get back the new boards with the updated mounting holes and power connector? Everything check out with them?
