| There's a new BETA of AmiWolf with RTG support and improved mouse control over in the zone on the English Amiga board. Needs testing.

| @Nova Coder I wish you welcome here on our forum. I m very happy to see you here. Tried several times to contact you all over the place to talk about various stuff. After all it was you who said famous sentence "Life begins after 100MIPS". I will be brave and add something to that "Life begins with Apollo-core", think about it :)

| I can't find AmiWolf on the Zone... I assume the ZONE is EAB's FTP site? Found it, never mind... :)

| What would cause the doomsound.library to fail to load. This is far as the AmiWolf gets.

| The doomsound.library issue seems to be with the 3.1.4 ROM. The doomsound.library cannot allocate the audio channels for some reason. Once I reverted back to the 3.1 Rom on my Vampire (2.11 core) and my A1200 Tower (Blizzard/PPC) everything works fine. I had similar issues with Strife as well with the doomsound.library and the OS 3.1.4 ROM (audio channel allocation problem).

Yep that makes sense. AmiWolf and Strife are both based on the ADoom source code. The bug is with the 3.1.4 ROM

| Update: Out of curiosity, using Remus, I rebuilt the 3.1.4 ROM with the 3.1 ROM audio.device (v37.10). The 3.1.4 ROM's audio.device is v45.15. Using Blizkick as I always have on my A1200T, I booted with my new "Custom" ROM. As expected, success! The doomsousnd.library is now functional. Everything works as expected. I am not sure what was changed in v45.15 of the audio.device, but since the doomsound.library is the only program or library I have had any audio issues with thus far, I can bet it is not playing by the rules (Amiga OS Compliant - Audio Allocation Friendly).

| Is it really a 3.1.4 rom issue? Because DoomAttack is working fine and also using the doomsound.library.

The abovementioned test with a 3.1.4 kickstart with just the audio.device exchanged for the 3.1 version clearly shows that the bug is triggered by 3.1.4. Of course, it may be possible that 3.1.4 is just less tolerant to a wrong call than 3.1 or something, but then 3.1.4 supposedly supersedes a 25 year old OS version and as an explicit bug-fix release should not break any software. In any case this issue is worth looking into on the side of the 3.1.4 devs.

| I started a thread on Amiga.org in regards to this. Apparently this occurs on OS4 as well. I included the link to the thread below: http://forum.amiga.org/index.php?PHPSESSID=c4n9grcjpvfkj3usg54adjt154&topic=73946.msg842497#new

| A recent and pleasant update: An new doomsousnd.library has been uploaded today to AmiNet. This addresses the OS 3.1.4 compatibility issue. Apparently the library used a bad audio allocation call that the new audio.device in the 3.1.4 ROM did not tolerate. I downloaded and installed the 060 version of the newlyy compiled doomsousnd.library from AmiNet. To make sure, the only copy of the library resides in Libs: After a fresh reboot, I tried ADoom, Strife and Rise of the Triad. The midi music works again, very nice. Thanks for the help from the guys over at Amiga.org. A very quick fix indeed :)
