| Is 2.5 an official Core? It is not on the Wiki site and some my not have moved to it for that reason. If 2.7 is treated the same there may be the same issue. Happy for the progress on v4.

It's an official Beta core.

| Video is from V2. Both, V2 and V4, will start from Gold 2.7 (RTG) level and go together to the Gold 3 (RTG+AGA). We will also offer "rangermem" REMUS module which is for Vampire's fastram. |
Hi Simo, I've never seen mention of this before...Is this REMUS? EXTERNAL LINK Otherwise, what's it do?

| @Thierry Atheist. I recommend to check nice guide/blog how to create custom kickstarts by mfilos. REMUS is not a Vampire specific thing, but a general Amiga stuff.

| Thanks very much Simo and Peter. It's simply AMAZING how much scrutiny has been applied to the innards (all things) of AMIGA!!!!! The LAST *personal* computer!!!!

| @Simo, how much space will we have for the MapROM function? Will it be possible to have a 1 MB kickstart? Or maybe even something bigger?

| MapROM supports 256kt, 512kt and 1MB ROMs. ATM 1MB ROM has almost half of the space left with the all stuff in.

Could VampireBoot,SDNet and some features added to VampireROM? Nice one can "map" whatever KS one needs.Sounds like some new age MMU stuff >:-)

| SDNet is already in Gold2.5 kick. VampireBoot? You mean boot from micro SD card? For that you might want to ask from "heiroglyph" if he will find time to finish drivers (or someone else). Anyway, we are almost done and time window is too small before the 2.7 release. Actually mapped KICK ROM is already protected by 080 MPU.

The SDNet driver itself doesn't belong in Kick. It's a SANA-II driver that goes into DEVS:Networks/. Since Gold 2.5, the kickrom has a prerequisite component (vampire.resource) for proper hardware arbitration of expansion ports and other Vampire features.

Nice to see some piece of software using MMU, just to break some amiga.org myths :-) Well, if you ask me, full blown acessability from both mouse button boot menu, or VampireBoot to manage SD Card/HDD partition booting would be nice feature. There are also LinuxMint FAT16/32 and AROS partitions to think of, beyond AOS/Amikit FPS/PFS.Also SDNet/Ethernet Kickstart support for once for all, if possible. It would also be nice for IDE Catweasel mk2 to be supported for people that would love to add floppy to Standalone for sentiment and hardware protected "backups" :-) EXTERNAL LINK Henryk Richter wrote:

Nice. Couple of drivers and requisite components would be exactly what I believe should be in ROM. Hey 512KB space to waste :-)

| If it's in the kickstart you could netboot the Amiga. Might be useful for the inevitable Vampire4 super cluster ;)

Should be part of v3 core, if not released before. For v2 users and future v4 standalone AGA over DIGITAL-VIDEO is far more important, as eliminates second monitor. But yes, why not also audio over DIGITAL-VIDEO :-) Daniel Lakey wrote:

Well, would not dream of superclaster, some local LAN party maybe. But that netboot would be nice! Or enough stuff in ROM for minimal but functional CLI boot (boot with no startup sequence).

| NMI-Button Test With The Vampire 500 - A2000 CPU Slot Adapter When WHDLoad is running NMI-button can fire-up HRTMon from the custom KickStartROM (Mapped with the VampireMapROM). EXTERNAL LINK
