| Made a quick test with Akiko and my OverdriveCD - it seems to work. WingCommander CD32 runs very smooth with turtlemode and Akiko, without Akiko it was slower. But there is a problem with the colours - there is to much red and blue, but thats not only a problem of the V1200 - same issue on a normal A1200/30.

| Does anyone know software to slow down the speed of the CD drive? This would help to increase compatibility with CD32 games.

IDEfix97 CD32-Emulator can do that. Did you try with the "Wing Commander enhanced V2 CD32.iso"? EXTERNAL LINK Basically all programs using the WriteChunkyPixels function of graphics.library should automatically benefit from Akiko. With this patch WritePixelArray8 and WritePixelLine8 will use also Akiko. EXTERNAL LINK

I've tried IdeFix but the Emulator doesn't really work with the Archos OverdriveCD. I've made the test with the orginal CD - is your iso an another version? EXTERNAL LINK Do you have an idea what responsable is for the wrong colours at Wing Commander? (It's not a V1200 problem - same on a naked A1200)

| With the 4xEIDE software installed, the RC56 system with the GOLD 2.12 update did not load to the end. Does the 4xEIDE now work with the RC57 system and the GOLD 2.13 update?

| Tried 2.13RC2 with Rev 1B 1200( not re-capped, no timing fix, new PSU - A-Power ) and Coffin R57 Can see Vampire logo but doesn't boot, just black screen. Tried removing the rom mapper from the startup sequence but same. Tried my old ClassicWB, booted fine but during boot corruption visible on the bottom the screen with the Vampire logo( where the version is ), basically lots of red dots. While this booted fine there is no HD visible in workbench( could be SW related as this is installation for my Blizzard 030 ), only the internal SD which i havn't formatted. Also PCMCIA not working. Regardless of Coffin/Classic WB, its not possible to get into the boot menu. Power light just cycles as if audio filter is on/off. Yesterday i did try Gold 2.11 and Coffin R55 which would boot into workbench ok( but not stable, realise more for V4 standalone ) when i disabled rommapper in the startup-sequenceAll scenarios using CF card on internal Vampire IDE Can't try 2.12 + Coffin R56

| If you implement the CD32 functionality, can I also use it on my A 500 with the bsc Oktagon 508 (SCSI controller) to boot from CD-ROM? This SCSI controller uses the standard scsi.device. Because then I could for example install AmigaOS or AROS from CD-ROM? That would be a very big step forward.

| @AMike: EXTERNAL LINK @Mark Mc Fadden: It's normal that Vamp bootlogo will get corrupted when not booting into RTG mode. Bootlogo memory is not reserved so you can see how stuff is written into memory. Usually hdmi out is not used when booting PAL/NTSC mode from RGB out. @Andreas Pf: No. A500 does not have an AGA chipset.

Thanks for clarifying, can you confirm the Coffin version you used for the V1200 availability post? Ill try R56 later as may be better.

| @Andreas Pf: Sorry I misread your question. You didn't wan't emul CD32, but boot from CD. That's not Vamp or C2P related feature. @Mark Mc Fadden. R57

Thanks, not sure why i get stuck on a black screen with R57. Ill try a PAL screen, R56, failing that ClassicWB with RTG( with vampire driver), 040 version

| So I will continue to need floppy disks to boot in the future.

It could be e.g that your tv/monitor can not show the hdmi mode where R57 boots as default.
