| @Vojin Vidanovic: Hardware Sprite support was introduced on Gold2.7. Gold2.12 supports now a larger sprite area size to make a custom pointer. HW pointer position also matches now with the V4, which is better for the future updates. @Darkulla Vampire: scsi.device from the 314 does not support 32bit writes. Do you mean that soft reset and a newer vampiregfx.card driver does not work for you with 314? @Rod March: Correct, Vampire RTG driver is only needed when using Picasso96 software to enable RTG modes. @to the thread: Behavior of the 68080 with WHDLoad is similar than with highly overclocked 68040/060, so make sure that you are using latest slaves with the WHDLoad which have fixes for the 040/060 CPUs (real CPUs don't have the advantage to control whole hardware like emulators do). Selecting "ExpChip" will enable auto Turtle, which may fix some demos/games which are badly coded to work with the fast CPUs.

Glad about it :) This list would need a brush up, including a update about SWIV, and certainly AGA games with V4/Core3 EXTERNAL LINK

Updated vampiregfx.card -driver v1.26. Does this fix the issue, if you set VideoMemSize=0M from the monitor icon tooltypes? (enables automatic aligned memory allocation). EXTERNAL LINK

| @Sean Sk: Thank you for the good feedback! Turtle mode improvements are attempts to meet stock Amiga speed with the fast CPU (Blitter syncs etc). i.e. fix the badly coded games. The way how you enable turtle (WHDLoad, Early-Startup) does not matter. |
Thanks for the information Simo. I don't know far you guys want to go in trying to improve compatibility with problematic floppy disk games, but just in case, the ones that didn't work for me (even with cache disables in early startup) were: Stunt Car Racer/Stunt Track Racer Ivan Stewart's Super Off Road SWIV I do encourage you guys to try booting from the "Interphase" floppy disk. I would be intrigued to see what you make of the screen full of error codes that pops up and whether it's useful. I have been extensively testing Lotus 2 (WHDLoad) and stability is worse in 2.12 than in the 2.11. Played 2 player mode and the player cars glitch when turning. This is with NoCache and ExpChip set. Game crashed at one point. Don't get these issues with 2.11. It was also a little disappointing to see frame rate slow down a bit in the game when ExpChip was enabled. Game is smoother without it. I guess that's the point with ExpChip, but I would prefer not to use it with a game like Lotus 2.

Which WHDLoad version you are using and does e.g Whdload 18.2 works better for you?

Ah yeah oops, probably should have mentioned that. :) I am currently using the latest 18.6 beta. I did just use 18.2 and yes, the problem still exists in that version. To reproduce it: Use "TURPENTINE" code and play 2 player race. Car glitches will happen on the first track and will start to get bad after the 2nd checkpoint. As you progress through the first track the glitches will get worse and worse to the point that, by the end of the race, it's ridiculous. :D Interesting thing to note: This problem occurred in GOLD 2.5, mainly on the second track, but seemed to be fixed for awhile in 2.7 onwards.
