More like Standalone + Pi, but dont have wild dreams. Its NOT 2 sys in 1 case, its just nice Amiga style case. And that is quite enough.

| Stephen just mentioned today that it would be possible to have to systems in the case. Always a combination with the RPI or standalone. Wow imagine an A600,A500,A1200 together with an Vampire standalone :) |
Nope. I have to disapoint you, it doesnt work that way. Its one board system, but can fit Classic+v2 Vamp OR mb and Pi due to small dimensions. ---------------- From dedicated FB group ----------------------- Brian Johnston What would be extremely impressive is if you could build a case to house the A500 AND A1200 boards together and be able to use them at the same time with a switch to change keyboard / mouse inputs between them, I know it's pie in the sky stuff but you never know 😉 Stephen Jones To be clear, apart from adding a Pi, or attached vampire in as well only one motherboard at a time. |
Hi Vojin, That's what I meant 2 systems in one. An Amiga motherboard (A500, A600,A1200) and a standalone or PI. NB we are referring to the same fb post ;)

While they can fit, I am not sure will they be able to share keyboard / ports / drives / video outpout, as real "2 in 1 machines" (if any).

I won't mind using a second screen with some kind of keyboard and keyb/mouse switch if necessary :D In that case the told Amiga would need an USB solution for keyb and mouse.

| There has been some discussion of keyboard options on the A1500 Plus Facebook group. Making the A500 keyboard into an external one is a straight forward cabling and casing project but I wonder if an A500 motherboard equipped with a Vampire 4 accelerator could seamlessly use a USB keyboard instead via the Vampire or if it will only be configured to expect keyboard data from the Amiga motherboard CIA (is there a jumper for this or would it need a modified core). I wouldn't expect both keyboard ports to work at the same time unless using the USB keyboard via a driver rather than direct hardware implementation.

It has a slot cut out so the PCMCIA card will just stick out the side of the case much like it does on the original cases

Both Alinea and Amigakit, and maybe other dealers, are selling PCMCIA right angle adapters which should see you right.
|
No need for a right angle adaptor, he has designed it with a slot so the card passes right through to the outside of the case. Means you can swap it out for whatever card you want without opening the case too
