Andy Honestly I'm not sure.  It is working on my Vampire 500, but I am using only 1024x768 on that system.  I can try it also on my V1200 and see if it works.  That system is running 1280x800.

No worries. I got my Vamp500 (G2.13 RC2) setup with a fresh r58 image and updated SAGA to 2.6.1, would you believe it, rdesktop bloomin works. the machine's not the fastest on the network, about 7meg down, and 5meg up via the v2exp.device. but rdesktop  works!

so i've updated my V1200 core from 2.13 RC3 build 7717 to 2.13 build 7950, updated my SAGA to 2.6.1, updated everything i can think of...

then reading what you said just here twigged. my V500 i ran RDP fullscreen at 1024x768 @16bit as that was the default, and it worked. so i tried 1024x768 on the mess that my vampire 1200 install has become, and BOOM! she's working!

so i have a working rdesktop1.8.3 beta on the following:-
V500 with V2exp.device,
V1200 with cnet16.device,
A4000 with xsurf100.device.
(all running coffin r58 as the workbench build)

thanks again for your time and effort of sticking with me. i knew it had to be something i was/wasn't doing!

Heh, a V4sa. well wouldn't that be something. i think i have to many "alternate machines" already. :D
i need to get my A600 healthy again, she's not been happy with IDE or PCMCIA devices since she was recapped. then i can get my Vamp 600 mounted up and rolling in the party too.
if i was to buy another amiga, it'd be an A2000 to replace the A2000 shaped hole in my life when i sold mine for £80 way back when.
still in the market for some more V1200 cards to fit out my other two 1200's and my CD32 maybe?

@Andy, glad it's working.

  I am hoping to release the final version shortly, but beta releases have slowed a bit from the developer..hopefully soon.  At least you have the beta working now.

  If anyone else wants the beta just send a small (or large! ha-ha!) donation to me via my webpage EXTERNAL LINK and I will send it to you.  ALL donation money goes to the developer for motivation/reward.  Once the final version is out it will be free.
