AmigaOS 3.2 On Vampire V2page  1 2

I noticed that removing a mounted CF-card (FAT32 filesystem) using the PCMCIA adapter stopped working correctly since I installed 3.2 (both on A1200 and A600). The card will not dismount when removed and the Amiga locks up. Mounting and auto-mouting works fine, but not dismount/remove.

  Interestingly I found that VampireMap is not needed with AmigaOS 3.2. It seems that LoadModule ROMUPDATE in the Startup-Sequence does the job.

  Really? And where does it get the 3.2 modules to update the rom from? How does it work? Did you check that all modules are the updated 3.2 ones?

I haven't checked thoroughly, but the modules looked to be the correct versions. I haven't really spend time looking in to how LoadModule does stuff, so I can't answer how it works.

Test your setup without VampireMap and with the Startup-Sequence which AmigaOS 3.2 installs.

And another small "bug"? This is regarding the new editor TextEdit. For some reason TextEdit does not recognize files types, or at least colors and fonts does not change for comments, etc if you open for example startup-sequence. This only seems to happen on the Vampire. It works on the emulator (WinUAE) with the same image, but not on the vamp. I have no idea why. And it's the same problem if I hold down shift at boot to disable the vamp RTG.

C files are automatically syntax colored, but I can confirm that SS is not. If you choose the correct filetype from the filetype menu (a script) it works.

Aha, yes this works, thanks. But in my emulator (WinUAE)it works directly. Strange.

More testing, changing to script works on my A1200, on the A600 nothing works at all. No coloring whatever I choose.

My A600 is Core 2.12, saga 2.5.1. A1200 is Core 2.13 Saga 2.6.1.

Just got my Amiga OS 3.2 and testing it on my V1200. Only thing i found that doesnt work so far is the "SDMountOnOff" tool. It freezes and gurus the amiga straight away and every single time.
  Also found that Peter K icon library runs a lot better and displays icons a lot crispier and colourful. Other than that it works great.

Workaround: If the SDcard is inserted & mounted, to umount type in the CLI (whats is easier) FlushSD then Enter, it Reports

GetDeviceProc() Succeeded!
Unlock() succeeded!
Dismount SD0:
Dismount nameofSDCard:
Opencount forced to Zero.

the card is unounted and ready to be taken out...
then put your SDcard back into Vampire
Then in The Cli enter C:Mount Devs:/Dosdrivers/SD0 OR C:Mount Sys:Storage/Dosdrivers/SD0 to mount it & it works
& 2nd Possibility is to Doubleclick on the SD0: Icon in devs/Dosdrivers OR sys:Storage/dosdrivers (where the SD0: Icon is located.

I hope this helps (on SAGA2.6.1 without using giggledisk for this approach)

Yeap it does help. That is what i have done since i wrote my post and added 2 buttons in ToolsMenu, executing what you mentioned above (so i dont have to open cli). Same buttons i created in Dopus as well. It works fine that way.
Thanks for clarifying this in here!!

Regards

Nikos
