Sysinfo Crashes In Basic OS Installations

I have a weird problem with sysinfo only on basic OS installations.
All my fully loaded distros work fine but in cases where I keep some of my installations light, when running sysinfo (any version), all works except when I click the Boards tab. Then it instantly locks or freezes the system and needs a reboot to get back on its feet. Am I missing any library or other component and it causes that freeze behavior? Haven’t worked out what it is. Basic systems like  3.1.4.1 plus Best WB and MUI does it. 3.1 plus Better WB plus mui does it also. Same with 3.9. Now in same OS systems but fully loaded (almost like a distro pack) sysinfo Boards tab runs fine. Any ideas?

For support question I can highly recommend you to use our discord channel. Have you seen it already?

Regarding your question.
What card do you use?
What kick do you use?
What sysinfo version do you use? Did you see the same with the latest/newest?
Do you have the same issue also when booting without Startup-Sequence and starting Sysinfo from CLI?

Hi Gunnar

  Yes i am in Discord.

Regarding this matter, I use the V1200
The kick depends on the distro i am running. The kick i use with this 3.9 basic install is the 40.68 or the coffin one. With my basic 3.1.4 installation i use the 46.143 one. Same result. I use the sysinfo 4.3 and tried 4.4 as well with the same results. Latest sysinfoboards file is in S. Havent tried to run without startup sequence or run sysinfo from cli. Will try that tonight.

Thanks for your help in this

Since this is solved I will post it here for everyone to see in case they face the same issue. With the help of Gunnar who turned my focus on the sysinfoboards file we usually put in S folder. Initially removing it solves the problem and since vampires have a boards file already mapped, no extra problem is created. Then I read some more and discovered the complete solution to the issue and why is happening in my basic installations and not in my more complex ones. The problem is the stack size of sysinfo which needs to be increased in order to cope with those extra sysinfoboards files. So either you have stackattack2 installed in ur system and that takes care of that or you increase the stack size of sysinfo program manually. Either way the problem is gone and you get to keep the sysinfoboards file for those who want to.

Excellent find!
Can you please tell this to Geijer who is the maintainer of Sysinfo?
It would be nice if Sysinfo just takes care of this in the next release.
He is online on our Discord channel too.
