Just wondering if there is a drive click disabler hidden away somewhere? The clicking from all my drives is driving me mad LOL. Seems like everything else plus the kitchen sink is already installed so I assume I'm just overlooking it? (R49)

Thanks.

MCP might have it. I downloaded NoClick from aminet myself.

There are a half a dozen solutions on aminet to disable the clicking.

I've tried MCP and NoClick. It doesn't seem to work for me.

Just stick a non-booting formatted floppy into the drive. It is what I have been doing since 1987. The Amiga is hungry. :D

Try Aminet NoClick EXTERNAL LINK
Or feed the beast, as advised.

As I said Vojin both don't work for me.
I'll put an empty floppy into it :)

There are couple of more, sometimes 1996 releases work best.

Try e.g.
EXTERNAL LINK  EXTERNAL LINK  EXTERNAL LINK  EXTERNAL LINK
Hope one WILL work!

I use anticlick with R49 and it works fine for me:

Thanks - tried the one that Vojin suggested on aminet and it's working great. Just copied the file to SYS:C and added it to user-startup and all was quiet in the world again after a reboot! =)

It even works on my Gotek with the speaker mod!

I thought that people did the speaker mod because they liked the clicking sounds. :-)

I agree! Like listening to your girlfriend’s heart beating!
Soothing ^^
Honestly, I like it
I’ve talked to some on the IRC server who use goteks, who miss the sound

Reflash those Goteks with FlashFloppy, get a cheap $1 ebay piezo and two dupont wires.. done.

Yeah - I know what you guys are saying but I have 3 external drives including the gotek so it's not just one 'heartbeat' it's 4. One. After. The. Other!

If I'm sat there playing a quiet adventure game or doing a bit of coding or whatever it seriously gets on my tits! Even 30 years ago when the machines were new the sound irritated me!

As for getting the gotek with the sound - it came that way. I chose it because it had a cool OLED screen so I could actually see what file I'm selecting.

Well the nice thing bout the goteks with the sound mod, if you really want you can just install a simple switch on one of the piezo wires, turn it on with you have the "feels" for nostalgia and turn it off when you dont.
