Yes Eric, noticed that. I will try the fix.

Anyone else noticing that EaglePlayer2 plays all audio at a slow speed? like 80% normal speed..

I went in and tweaked the amplifier mixer to mix at 22khz rather than 44 and it seems to have fixed the issue ..

For 44khz you need ECS or AGA chipset.
If you have an AMIGA with OCS then use 22khz!

anything that would be considered a major show stopper from running Apollo/coffin on a non-vampired/"standard" 060 amiga?

i was looking at the state of my A3000 last night, and thinking that it looks a little unpolished and incomplete from what my vampired A500 has as a standard setup.

Thanks .. I do have an OCS machine (A500) and sorta figured it out the hardware but its good to know my debugging process concluded with the right answer..!

Indeed .. I really **WANT** a vampire for my A3000 .. perhaps much more than my desire for a standalone,, the A3000 would be such a fantastic machine with a vampire .. My A3000 is more or less factory (its been that way since I bought it.. I never put in an RTG card or any sort of accelerator board) .. it only has a bit of extra ram and full chip ram.. thats it.. and its only the 16mhz model .. (I got the cheaper A3000 at the time so I could put in a 386sx bridge card -- which I have long since removed).

you and me both - and i'm sure we're not the only ones from a hardware perspective. we'll just have to sit it out a little longer :)

Software side, i have a functioning Apollo/coffinOS install running on a real 060 powered A3k.
copied over all the files from system, but kept my S:startup-sequence and S:user-startup
renamed my system drive to System:
  added in the THEMES: assign,
removed the cybergraphics monitors from DEVS: and installed Picasso96 from fresh, so the Cybervision64/3D works
USB via x-surf100+rapid road worked off the bat without any changes

more work to do, PFS seemed a bit crashy so back to FFS for the CF card on the internal scsi till i figure that out, add more things in from the Coffin startup sequences, trim out conflicting things in wb-startup... blah blah blah

but all in all, pretty easy.

one reason i'm doing this; especially since i saw those posts for the P96speed comparisons, is that it'll show the frankly mind boggling value for money a vampire and Apollo/coffinOS represents even at £$E300-£$E400 for the abilities and performance it brings.

will post up some P96speed results in that comparison thread soon.

Its after all OS 3.9+ distro. Take away Vamp specific lines in S:Startup Sequence and several pieces of software that really use Vamp (080/MMX) its fully usable on loaded Classic with 060, a lot of RAM and likewise gfx card. Problems would be on any less, be 040 and lots of RAM as minimum.

I am not really aware how much included now uses FPU, that might also be a problem for EC processors.

Comparison would be interesting, since software side is basically the same.

Yea I can't even run CoffinOS on my A3000, for starters it uses soft-kick 2.x roms and it lacks the cpu (just has factory 030) and ram .. its very much a stock machine..

Well, it was never intended to, like AmiKit and other "jam-packed" distros for high end machines and emulation.

what I mean by that is my A3000 is factory other than some extra ram / stock, 16mhz 68030 etc.. I has no RTG card nor does it have any sort of accelerator.. hence a vampire for the 3000 would be massive boost.. :-D

Well, sadly, seems A3000/A4000 users might be "v4 served" last, since plan was (as in v1.5 v4 announcement)

 The Vampire V4 Standalone System
 The Vampire V4 for Amiga Classic compatible with
  o Amiga 1000/500/2000/CDTV
o Amiga 600 with kippa’s adapter (if produced)
   The Vampire V4 for Amiga 1200

You see even A600 version is a bit doubted, and A3000/A3000T and A4000/A4000T versions arent mentioned. However with CD32, A1200 versions they could cover 90% of Classics out there.

Until now no real solution for CPU Socketed A3000/A4000 has been presented even constant interest pops from time to time (for v2 too).

Now, there is always a chance once e.g. A500, Standalone or CD32 version is out, some connector converted like Acil did for A2000 could be delivered.
However, as Gunnar stated, improper handling of 3d party adapters can null your Vamps guarantee. So take great planning and execution if it becames reality.

Had some quick run with Coffin R51. Looks very nice!!

Some issues I ran in to. SC2k error was explained already in this thread. Payback won't run. Regardless of screenmode, it halts after language selection with only one loading rectangle red. STonAmiga also doesn't run. Double clicking icon doesn't do anything.

I'm running on a A500 with 512 native memory. V500 2+ with core 2.9.

i noticed something similar in octamed soundstudio... in OSS, selecting an audio mixing frequency above a certain amount (like 32000khz) results in slow and lower pitched playback.

i'm taking a guess that it has something to do with the SAGA driver.

No, it's related to OCS chipset which can't output more than 22khz. It has been explained in this thread earlier. For 44khz, you need ECS or AGA.

this is on a 600... sorry i should have said that.

it only happens when using the SAGA driver.

OSS plays perfectly (and awesome) without using the SAGA driver

i'll try to investigate this some more and provide more info if i can... but my hdmi is limited to B/W until the next core...

ok... i decided to make a video. i hope it makes sense.

i tried to use an audio example that might sound familiar...

basically, everything sounds as expected until switching to the saga screenmode.

i used ntsc high res and multiscan in the beginning of the video and no matter what frequency was selected, the pitch of the audio was correct.

when i switch to the saga screenmode the pitch/speed drops... but only when the selected frequency is above 30-32khz or so...

below 30-32khz the saga screenmode sounds correct.

i hope this makes sense. sorry for the crap audio/video quality, i took it on my phone... and my hdmi display is pretty tiny and b/w

Just checked - Payback works for me (Vampire600 V2). STonAmiga - try to delete ENV:StonX_modes. Then it should ask you to choose the resolutions again and start.

type in CLI "C:SetEnv Picasso96/AmigaVideo 31kHz" and retry

OK thanks. So it may be a ChipRAM issue? Anyone can try on a A500 with 512 MB ChipRAM?
