SDMountInOff Vs SDMount

Hello!

I am setting up my SD card for the first time, and following the Wiki.

When i get to the step:

Execute:SYS:System/SDMount

It does not work, because I don't have 'SDMount' I have 'SDMountOnOff'

When I try to replace SDMount with SDMountOnOff I get:

Mount failed returncode 20

Is there a new way to do this? Or is there a way to get SDMount?

I am running a 500 V2+ with SAGA V0.14

Format your uSD card in normal way to FAT32. Put it to the Vampire and double click SD0 icon from Storage/DOSDrivers.

That doesn't really help, particularly if you want to use PFS3 as advised in the setup pages of the Wiki. If the driver package has changed then the Wiki needs updating to show the correct process. As currently it advises to use SDMount to create the mountlist. The SDO mountlist included is set as FAT95 and will not suit everyone's requirements, hence creating your own.

Create the MountList with SDMount

1. Open a CLI (newcli).
2. Type Execute SYS:System/SDMount and RETURN.
3. Type CD T:SDMount and RETURN.
4. Type Dir and RETURN.
5. This script use C:GiggleDisk to read the MicroSD partitions table,
6. and creates one MountList per partition in T:SDMount directory.
7. Type Ed SD0 and RETURN.
8. Ensure that FileSystem attribute is FileSystem = L:pfs3_aio-handler.
9. Save and exit if needed.
10. Type Copy ALL TO SYS:Storage/DOSDrivers/.
11. Better Reboot, especially if you modified the MountList.

SDMountOnOff is just a new version of the SDMount script with added FlushSD tool to mount/unmount your SD card on the fly.

Is your card formatted in FAT32 format from PC ?

I will wait for Chris to respond regarding his specific issue. I am interested in this as I am going to be setting this up myself shortly.

I am not sure why everyone keeps pointing towards using FAT32. Following the Wiki it tells you to set it up as PFS3 which is the best file system to use on the Amiga anyway. The SD card being in FAT32 wouldn't  be much use of the filesystem required and specified in the mountlist is PFS3.

I'm trying to use a MicroSD card for the first time too and am not having any luck. (R49 - GOLD 2.8 x11) MicroSD Card is a 32GB Kingston.

I've formatted it as FAT32 on my PC and I have copied SD0 from Storage\DOSDrivers into Devs\DOSdrivers and rebooted. Nothing happens when I insert the card. Tried accessing SD0 from DOpus but just get "No disk present in device SD0".

I need to be able to use this to transfer stuff from my PC hence I don't want it Amiga formatted. What am I don't wrong?

Edit your sd0: in devs:dosdrivers. Make sure it is correct.

Thank you so much for that link. Edited my SDO: file exactly like it said and the card is working perfectly now!

Awesome =)

OK just one tiny little issue now. Card only appears after a reboot - it doesn't clear if I eject it or appear when inserted (like a floppy disk does).

Is this normal behaviour or is there another tweak I can make please?
