Amikit X port is already "Work in progress"

  Video link is NOT public.

But I am glad. No need to push Jan and no need for paid product,
even I do find it as better solution on long run.

AmiKit is AmiKit and AROS is AROS.

"At the moment I am updating Aros Vision, then I could work at something for Vampire/Apollo. What desktop do people want? Scalos, Wanderer, Magellan?"

Its best, like AmiKit to include em all.

Personally, Wanderer is usable but ... kind of not WB enough.
ScalOS is more like it, but ... demanding.
Magellan is nice, but it is just "a expanded universe of file explorer"

If you ask me, Wanderer should grow to include Magellan style
listers and features and ScalOS colours and icons support.

On the other hand, I see Jan does not include latest bugfixed Dopus 5.91 EXTERNAL LINK

"f Amikit X easy to install with vampire drivers, I think I'd buy for vampire would it include a cloanto license for wb 3.x?"

Currently, its not officially supported and you cant just install it becuase it would require an FPU or UAE.
Making it easy and functional to work on Vampire is under work.

Every existing AmigaKit X install
you need to have  Amiga ROMs as files somewhere on HD (or buy it online)
      EXTERNAL LINK
And its installer works ONLY  if you have:
      - Amiga OS 3.5/OS 3.9 CD
      - Amiga Forever any edition
      - Amiga OS 4.1FE
and maybe few more options  (OS XL) ...

      EXTERNAL LINK
(which I suppose would have to be some mounted ISO on Vampire machines)

Yeah I have my os 3.9 CDROM mounted via compact flash, with a script , I forget who wrote it. Can use disk image GUI or virtual cd too.

Pedro (AmiKit X Vampire "fixer") has uploaded a nice preview video
EXTERNAL LINK
Description text
"The GUI is now much faster and fluid. Responds very well. Bird is working now Added some more SFS cache (SFS is the Amikit default file system) Testing also the SAGA power saver Tool type "NoSwitch". This puts to sleep the RTG while using the regular Amiga video output. Nice feature! Ho, and having fun naturally!!!"

AmiKit X works fine and is a nice upgrade to OS 3.9BB2

Cool,

Look FWD to the final product, or at least a cheat sheet on how to install it from the MAC or Windows version. 8-)

Uh Oh, isn't Amikit based on Amiga OS 3.9?

Yes, it requires OS 3.5/OS 3.9/AmigaForever maybe AmigaOS 4 fe by now, to be inserted during the install.

Dont worry, have them all, except OS 3.9 I will get for a standalone purchase.

Hi Vojin,

to clarify, nor I nor the Team is connected with the Amikit X project in anyway. The port to the Vamp is a private project from me only, and is in stand still for the moment. No time... :-(

When i find the time i will make a tutorial so u guys can play with it.
cheers,
Pedro

Wanted it to be official, but at that time it was said its already underway.

I suppose port is actually fixing it to boot on Vamp and how to Tutorial would be most welcome, alongside replacement files. Surely, idea is to purchase AmiKit X but to use it on Vampire.

Its 30 euros. I suppose any version has Vampire needed files.

Thanks Jan! (and Pedro for testing and fixing for Vampire!)

  WARNING:

    AmikitREAL image for you.
This is old and i'm no longer customizing it so maybe u guys want to try it and continue with the customization.
It works for me, might not work for you. You might need to change the Picasso settings and update the FEMU as the installed version is old. (See S-S file)

This was done on Gold 2, V500

  Thanks, Pedro!

Note this is AmiKit 8.x not AmiKit X!
