Vampire 2 Screen Issues?

Hi. Ive got the newer version of the Vampire 2 (the one modified to be compatible with the later cores).

Recently my workbench screen in randomly going black and then returning to normal. Its really annoying.

Anyone know what might be causing this.

Its connected via a hdmi to hdmi/DVI converter.

Its been working fine for years prior to this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

It could be the DVI adapter.  I've had issues with mine.  If possible try with another adapter/cable or Monitor.

Obviously a straight DIGITAL-VIDEO cable is the best option.  But I also have a DVI adapter and sometimes I have to wiggle it to get a clean picture.

hi. ive tried a straight hdmi to hdmi but it doesnt pick up at all?

I thought of the second monitor idea but first i tried unplugging my CF card from the A600. The intermittent black screens have stopped.

Do you think this might be a power issue (even though i've never experienced this problem before)?

Apart from the vampire i have an indivision ECS, battery back up, usb keyboard adapter inside, a mouse port to usb adapter and a joystick port to ps2 controller adapter.

All this is running from the original A600 psu, which i hear is a little weak. You think this could be causing the blank screens?

  Cheers

P.s. (update.. its still doing it a bit but not as bad as before?) whos knows whats going on.

The V600 has always had a weaker DIGITAL-VIDEO signal
as it has no DIGITAL-VIDEO amplifier chip onboard.
Do you use an external DIGITAL-VIDEO amplifier after it?

How good is your general power source?
You sounded like you have many other expansion/add ons in your A600.
Could it be that you run low on power?

Hi. You reminded me of that device. Think its called a repeater or something. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and it seems to have fixed the problem for now... no blank screens, so far. I hope it was something that simple rather than the card dying.

Ill be back if anything changes :)

thanks for the help

Hi, I have the same issues as the thread starter, but I got a brand new Icedrake. Random black screen blanking for 3 to 6 seconds, then back to normal picture. Especially in old AGA modes with demos/games.
Have a Freesync Gaming Monitor over DIGITAL-VIDEO but I had the same with an DIGITAL-VIDEO to VGA converter and a CRT.

  I have a recapped A1200 Rev 1D.1 with a recapped Amiga PSU 5V@4.5A.
The 2 critical capacitors E122C and E121C are not installed on the MoBo. I have no other expansions in my Amiga. Apollo OS R9.1RC1 and Coffin R61 showed roughly the same result. Core 8898 R9.

  Any Ideas?
