Your fine. Only the V2 A1200 is affected by license issues.

Unlicensed cards display a grey scale video picture, instead of full colour, but are otherwise fully functional.

V600 might also be affected by license issues.

Coffin displays in full color and fully works, it must be licensed.
  How do I check ?

Can I give Apollo my serial number to check ?

Hello David,
did you update to Core 2.16?

No not yet, Why ?
Is that when I find issues if not licensed ?

Thanks

Then how do I check to see if its licensed without reflashing to latest core ?

What happens with core 2.16 ?

I am very annoyed I am expected to purchase a license because I purchased the card second hand on ebay.
It would be different if clones of V2 were around.
If my card is not licensed then I will stick with Core 2.15 that works good enough for me.
Please explain the advantages of 2.16 ?
I'm very happy with my 2 V2's and I support Apollo and I dont think its right I have to pay because I got my card from a good seller on ebay.

I have just flashed 2.16 and get no video through hdmi.

OK, I have read people are cloning your cards, I didn't realise.
There shound be a way to check if a persons card is a clone or not instead of having to buy a license.

One last year and one about 3 years ago.
Both second hand from privet sellers on ebay.
My 2 cards are unlicensed.
Also I still notice slowdown problems with core 2.16 as well.
I reported this about a year ago on this forum.
I see no advantage in core 2.16 as I use mostly amiga OCS games and demos.
The Apple OS is a lot of fun as well, I like to play Links Golf.
I am not interested in games dedicated to the vampire.
Will one license cover my 2 cards ??

Thanks

From which country was the seller?

Where do you notice a slowdown?

2.16 has many advantages, including improved stability, fixes and new features.
But if you only play OCS games, then maybe you not need the Vampire at all?

I do use other stuff in coffin and plan on playing with Apollo OS.
I use Scummvm a lot as well.
Mac OS I like also.
Sorry I was wrong, I do Need the vampire and loving it.
I purchased one card from Germany and one in Australia, seller purchased from Germany.

Last Ninja 2 has slowdown, Some OCS demos have slowdown.
This does not happen on a 68030 accelerator.
If only the vampire has a 030 mode.
My main games machine has a indivision 030 40hmz cpu and no slowdown is noticed, game are the whdload installs.

Regarding your card, can you please ping me on Discord and tell me your SN numbers?

Last Ninja 2 has slowdown

Using WHDLOAD or from Floppy?
It which point exactly do you see the slowdown?
If WHDLOAD, what WHDLOAD settings: Cache/Nocache/Expchip/..) are you using?

The slowdown happens both from floppy and WHDload.
Its not WHDload thats the problem.
Last ninja 2 running around has slowdown, does not happen on 030.
Can I please email you the serial, I dont understand what Discord is.

Thanks

Is it slower than the original 68000 CPU?
At which point in the game do you see the slowdown?

I recall Last Ninja 2 to be great on C64, but the Amiga port I think was rather bad. Very disappointing IMHO.

Yes sure, please email me.

Discord is an online live chat.
You can use from a webbrowser or mobile phone or from a program.
Its very popular and we have hundreds, actually thousands of users using it.  If you have an Amiga question many people are online and able to answer your questions. And as there are many people from all around the globe you can get answer any time of the day.

I'll email it to you on your contact email.
When the ninja is running around there is slow down.
Happens throughout the game.
Blizzard 060 has slowdown.
Blizzard 030 does not slow down.
I know the 060 is many times faster but its something to do with cpu architecture.
This is only an example from past experience.
It is common knowledge in the amiga community that 030 accelerators do a better job at running 68000 stuff.
The Apollo 68080 is based on 040, is this true.
Then it doesn't do the job 030 does.
I was upset when I spent $1000 on a blizzard 68060 from phase5 10 years ago and 30% of the games had slowdown.
I thought it would be an improvement.

There are several factors to look at.

For example the Amiga1200 mainboard does speak 68030 protocol.
This basically means that every child can make an 030 accelerator.
You literally only need to connect wire 1 to pin1, wire 2 to pin2,
wire 3 to pin3, and and so on.

The 68060 speaks a different "language" - so
you need to translate the language in between.
Some Amiga card loose on this and fail to use the chipbus not 100%.

You can BUSTEST CHIP  on your system to see how good your setup is.
Please run it and tell us the results.

Another topic is that some games are very bad coded and crash for example because using selfmodify code.
An option to make the game "run" is to disable the caches on some CPUs, for example on the 040 and 060 CPU.
Amiga degrader do this normally.

If you do this- or the game does this. then this will of course also make it slow.

Thanks for all the info, I took everything in you said.
I didnt know the reason but I knew 030 ran 00 stuff better.
What about the 68020, why does that have slowdown.
It seens the 000 and 030 in the 68k series are the only good retro gaming cpu's for ocs games and demos.
Its not important I get these effected games working, but its a good subject to learn from.
My furia accelerator has slow down as well.
My Blizzard 68030 never had any sign of slow down and would run any amiga programs I threw at it.
Another question, why does the V4 not have slowdown with the 000 stuff ?
My V4 SA runs everything smoothly with the occasional graphics glitch.

Your right, I dont really like the amiga version of last ninja 2 either.
Ninja Remix is much better, and NO slow down :)

Thanks for your time and I look forward to your replies.
