  Yup, its on Aminet!
  EXTERNAL LINK
On features> its 0.53, so I hope it will grow.
Support more formats and datatypes (alone AMMX optimized hopefully).

Would love to see interfrace growing to be similar of
e.g. Emotion player for OS4

Since code is shared, in hands of all developers.
But not all are developers.

While MPEG video decoding is amazing using AMMX, its really basic features that are asked for.

I have problems here with RIVA 0.53 since 3.1.4. Riva 0.53 is optimized for the Vampire2.
So I use HIColor I have in all videos massive graphics error, TrueColor or P96 mode have it not,in this modes, all videos are juddering. HiColor worked fine for me under OS.3.1. Either a bug in 3.1.4 or RIVA needs an update?

Do you watch Video on own Screen (Fullscreen) or in a Window on WB?

How do you launch the Video (with helper GUI ?)
Or from CLI or with double click on video file?

Sorry to hear. Just a sidenote, maybe not to you exactly.

AMMX build of Riva is exclusive to Apollo Core Gold 2.7 and newer,
so dont expect it to behave well under 2.5

      68k binary should work everywhere.

    0.53 Vamp notes
    -----------------
RiVA should work well with default settings and the aforementioned encoding
parameters on Apollo Core Gold2. For optimal runtime performance, use full
screen on SAGA RTG (make sure, you have active screenmodes with 16 Bit depth),
along with Paula audio output. AHI sound output will considerably slow down
the player. Windowed mode on Workbench will also be much slower than the
fullscreen mode. Some additional performance improvement is possible by lower
    audio quality (e.g. commandline arguments AUDIOFREQDIV=2 AUDIOQUALITY=0).

  History
  ------------
This is the latest update to the fastest MPEG player available on the classic  68k Amiga platform. It is based on the work of Stephen Fellner and László Török,  extended by a lot of additional improvements in terms of runtime performance and  audio/visual quality. RiVA served as the prominent testcase in the development  cycle of the Apollo Core AMMX instruction set extension.

  Who needs it
  ----------
  0.53 download EXTERNAL LINK
  Short:        RiVA MPEG player
  Author:      Stephen Fellner, Henryk Richter
Uploader:    Renaud Schweingruber <renaud schweingruber gmail com>
  Type:        gfx/show
  Version:      0.53
  Architecture: m68k-amigaos
  Distribution: Aminet

----------
Its FLOSS
---------
Source code, licensing and building notes:
The full source code is included, covered by the GNU general public license.
The AGA and CGX renderers (unused in Apollo build) are available with dual
    licensing (GPL or MIT).

The only assembler supporting the extended Apollo instruction set is VASM.
At least version 1.7h of VASM is required. Use the -devpac mode of VASM.
Selection between the pure 68k build and the apollo build can be done with  the APOLLO_CLIP master switch (0/1).

Try directing sound to Paula not AHI and in the end lowering the audio quality.

  - AHI sound output will considerably slow down the player.
  - Some additional performance improvement is possible by lower
      audio quality (e.g. commandline arguments AUDIOFREQDIV=2 AUDIOQUALITY=0).

Note that problem is "since 3.1.4" and might be fixed in next release. New OS versions will introduce new strange behav with older apps.

Also latest SAGA drivers are mandatory, lates being  2018-09-30 : SAGADriver.v1.5.lha EXTERNAL LINK

Hi Thomas,

Try to reduce the 640x360 pixel clock a bit with the Picasso tool.

Thomas, you mention after 3.1.4 upgrade you get these glitches in RIVA.
Did you try to flash the vamp back to the 3.10 ROM that's included with a core release en then checked it's gone ?
Just to eliminate factors.
It could be that RIVA needs an update but could also mean P96 needs an update...

You may need an DIGITAL-VIDEO repeater/amplifier  .. I also adjusted the dot-clock setting for each and every combination of resolution/depth for each and every displaymode in P96 preferences ..

    I use this EXTERNAL LINK

Logical you first have to revert all changes, maybe i should have said so earlier.
