How to Install ApolloOS V4 SA

This may be a stupid question, I have tried YouTube, this forum, the faqs etc and I can't find anything on how to install or upgrade the ApolloOS on the v4 SA?

I just bought the v4 SA second hand and wanted to reinstall it. I have updated the core no problem. I downloaded the latest ApolloOS from this site and created an image on a sdcard using the image creator program on Windows with an sdcard. I plug the sdcard in to the v4 but it shows as an empty card (NoFS). In other words it doesn't recognise it when I boot up.

Another question. Can you only get coffinos on a cfcard? I can't find a legit download page, or are you expected to torrent it? I will want to dual boot so I don't really want to buy another cfcard.

Cheers

You can't boot from SD (from external port)

You have to use CF inside your vampire

Thanks, yes I understand that. I boot using the cf inside but want to upgrade the cf with the latest version of the operating system. I have expanded the os onto the sdcard but the v4 doesn't seem to recongnise it once work bench is loaded.

Sorry about the duplicate post.

There is a duo bootloader for ApolloOS & Coffin, though I'm not 100% certain it's current witth the lattest ApolloOS, as it's a large change from the prior release.  WillemDrijver is the one that maintains that and a couple other variants, including the Omni, which handles all the major OS versions.. Again though, that will need to be updated to run with the newest ApolloOS.

Likely the new SD driver can't 'see' the CF card. You may have to use RUFUS on PC to reformat with Fat32. The driver which handles FAT32 was updated not too long ago, and is a bit picky about the partition information location. It may not find it, unless it's in block 0. PC is less restrictive, so may see the volume just fine.

Coffin is distibuted free of charge via torrent. It will takes a little tim, as it's a large image (32Gb when expanded). The folks that charge $$ for the version on CF aren't selling you a license, they're charging for a 'service'. Basically, you're paying for a few minutes of their ttime to burn the image to a CF, plus the cost of the CF (no idea what brand(s) they use), plus shipping. If you have a bittorrent client, the torrent magnet link was active last I checked. I don't know how to attach the magnet link here.

Afaik they not even ship you a CF but only an SDcard.
You can not boot from an SDcard.
This means you need to copy the SDcard then yourself onto another CF.

Please not fall for them!
