ApolloOS On Vampire 500 V2+

I have a 500 V2+ and have been running Coffin R54 on it for the last 2 years or so.  I just recently upgraded the core to 2.12 and Coffin R54 still works fine.  I'm trying to run ApolloOS R6 and have not had much luck.  The Vampire splash screen loads, but then it always takes me to the screen to insert a disk.

I've read a some posts about screen resolutions (holding the shift key) but due to it not seeming to want to boot, that doesn't do anything.  The other thing I've seen refers to using a different ROM (AROS?).  However, I'm not sure how to do that if the OS doesn't boot?  Can anyone give me the ELI5 for how to do this on my 500 V2+?  I'm obviously missing something but not sure what I should be doing.

Also, side question, is Coffin R54 the latest Coffin OS that will run on the 500 V2+?

I think core 2.14 is needed for ApolloOS on the 500 V2.

The last Coffin available (actually) is R58 and it runs fine on the V2+

Do you know if it should run with 2.12 or does it also need 2.14?  When I try booting with R58, the drive light flickers a few times and then nothing.  The bat splash screen stays up and nothing on the secondary monitor.

I think it needs the last core, or at least 2.13 core
