Vampire Wont Boot With CF Card Attached

When the perfectly working CF card is attached to Vampire it failes to boot.  Cant even get early boot menu.  Just cycels through different shades of green on output.

I thought this was ram issue (its an a500  with 1mb chip ram hack),  but if I remove the card,  machines boots fine from gotek and shows all ram available.

Any ideas ?

Adapter and CF card are pretty much too hot to touch.

Tried a different CF adapter and it does not see the card or boot form car,  does boot from gotek and does not show up in early boot.  Is the ide knackered on my vampire ?

Still doesn't work.  :( :( Tried two different adapters and two different CF cards.  The cf cards mount fine in winuae.  But vampire just not recognising the cards

Is it likely I have fried the IDE on my Vampire ?  everything else seems to work just not connecting CF cards ( did work in the past )

Can you post few pictures or video so we can see what are you doing. It sounds to me that connection to the motherboard went bad. Maybe you should clean DIL socket more.

If I boot from an AmigaOS install disk and run hd tools,  it will find the drive and I can change drive type and save changes.  but when I partition drive it won't remember the changes and  can format the drives

  Will try that

So did attach it wrongly at one point, and that's why it was green screening.  I guess I could have kanckerd two adapters, but there is nothing really in the adapter is there.  I don't have another amiga easy to had to try the adapters on.  But the CF card reads fine in Winuae via a usb adapter.

It looks like an incompatible CompactFlash.
Have you tried another card?

Both cards I am using were working previously

I did snap off a load of the cpu  pins by accident and have had it repaired.  Maybe this has damaged something between the IDE and the rest of the board.
