Hi there, i have some grief with my V600, regarding working and keeping a good connection etc. This isn't a rubbishfest, or an invitation to post comments on the V600, The thing is, i am thinking about getting another one, but i wanted to see what has changed between the original V600, and the new one, has anyone changed theirs? what are the differences.

many thanks

It would be best to contact Majsta, via IRC or e-mail.

Some basic info on his website
EXTERNAL LINK  mentions power fixes and more secured connection as well as DIGITAL-VIDEO fix is mentioned later.

Some more info can be found on website
  EXTERNAL LINK
Mentiones adding Added GND layers, introduced via stitching and teardrops, added fiducials and PCB panelization and changing colour to black.

I had loads of stability issues with my V600. Pretty much all resolved after replacing the socket on it, as the original one was terrible. I went for an Augat socket which was also used on the Furia I had previously. Since doing that mine is pretty rock solid and requires no additional mounting (i did post a thread on it here ages ago).

Might be worth considering before forking out on another one.

Many thanks for that Leigh, i did think of changing the socket, but i don't have the required skills or equipment. Can you recommend anyone who might? if i can get it working better,i would much rather keep it.

I used one of these as it was what was used on my old furia. It's a bit of a tight fit as the holes in the Vampire are quite small, and the pins in this are quite thick. Once the holes were fully cleared of solder, it went into place fine with a little gentle pressure. A few others have used them without issue too, although over on a1k.org someone said it didn't fit.

I use the same socket on the 4mb fastram cards too and it really is a good fit.

I modify the socket before fitting it, as it then gives a better fit when being used upside down. Sukkoperra documented this with my info. You can find that here .....
