Cannot Configure SD Card

- I have a SanDisk 16 GB, Win32 formatted (with some file copied on Win)
- I am following https://wiki.apollo-accelerators.com/doku.php/system_tools:microsd

But, it's a Catch-22, as far as I can tell.

I can run SDDiag and get BlockSize/Blocks/Capacity info.

But there's no System/SDMountOnOff, which I can check by doing dir SYS:System

So, how exactly do you get those tools onto V4 ? Network ? Or some other way ?

Hi Vlad, if you have installed the latest SAGA driver then you must find the SD CARD mounting script in the System folder:
      SDMountOnOff & SDMountOnOff.Info

Make also sure the SD CARD is formatted in FAT32.So no exFAT or NTFS!

      https://wiki.apollo-accelerators.com/doku.php/saga:updates

The easiest way for me to transfer files to the Vampires is via my Android phone using Total Commander:
    1) Install Total Commander on your Android phone
    2) download & install the Total Commander send by Wifi add-on
    3) download your the most recent Saga package.
    4) start total commander and browse to your downloaded file.
      a) long press on the file gives you a choice what to do with the file.
      b) select Send To
      c) browse in the list of apps until you get Send via Wifi (toal Commander)
      d) it will present you with a screen and an URL that you must type in in your browser.
      e) in you broswer the page of the link will present you the list of files that you have made available through the Total Commander local webserver on your Android GSM.
      f) you can download as a Zip file or one by one. Do as you see fit.

Let me know if this has worked out for you.

    Succes and all the best,
    Mo

Hi, thanks for getting back to me.

I don't have the latest saga update, as that's the exact same problem - how to get files to V4 from PC.

Perhaps I'm missing something super obvious ? Maybe there's an easier way to transfer files - e.g. via enabling USB drives (rather than SD card )?
It sure didn't recognize my USB drives, but maybe there's a way to mount them...

I think I've seen some people connecting hard drives by disassembling the cover, but hopefully there's safer way...

Hi Vlad,

please not forget for support the Slack and IRc channels are MUCH more responsive.

Maybe we should first start with find our which OS you use.
Vamp supports many different OS. So giving us the information which one you use will make things a lot clearer.

I assume you use AROS?

If this is the case then maybe the 1st you could/should do is upgrade to the latest release.

Vlad you can dwonload the drivers from this link
https://wiki.apollo-accelerators.com/doku.php/saga:updates

Or go to the Slack channel as Gunnar suggested, where you can download a more recent core and the driverpack. Saga 1.8 package is only available there.

If your network connection is not operational then it's indeed a catch 22 aka chicken and egg situation. ;)

Didn't you receive a loaded CF card with your V4?

No mass media via the USB ports yet.

You could prepare a CF or SD on UAE / WinUAE that contains the software you need.
Afterwards you can connect to V4's IDE  port to boot it up.
Then you can mount the internal SD Card slot of the V4.
From then on you can instal the SDMount on every CF or SD that boots via your IDE port.

As suggested in the other thread, I waited at least four weeks, as there was a chance of a working networking feature around now.
Well, at least that was my understanding (perhaps incorrect).

So, does anybody know the current status of networking?

I really want to start testing my game on my Vampire :)

As Mo retro has suggested, it should also be possible to create the SD card via WinUAE, which I presume is the next best approach at this moment?

Hi, yes - I use AROS. Wouldn't dare to mess with it and burn weeks on troubleshooting that can be avoided by not messing with it.

Those flash/image files you posted - are they still the latest ones ? It's been over a month, so I suppose there was some update ?
