Hello Apollo team,

sometimes ago opened a thread about an interesting IP core about real time ray tracing. I can't found my post :-(

A ray tracing IP core would be really interesting for future evolution of the board.

The company that created Ray tracing IP core is developing the core further.

Here's the link with some comments on the performance / FPGA used

The FPGA card the core was using cost $5,000
For research such expensive FPGA are sometimes used but
I don't think that such expensive FPGAs make that much sense for our AMIGA fans and customers.

be more ambitious ;-)
Maybe a giant company could acquire the results.

Caustic graphics started with FPGA ray tracing card and then has been acquired by Imagination Technologies, that have already showed a Ray Tracing graphics card (2016), years before Nvidia (that claims the first ray tracing graphics card crown). PowerVR will show another Ray tracing card this year.

Would be great if Apollo team may work on a ray tracing card, tho

Familiar with the term "beyond the scope of this project"? ;-)
