Because so far Vampire 1200 IDE part has only been made into GAYLE. The rest of the things need to define transparent (WIP), except A1200 motherboard IDE.

Actually clockport is already working.

Clockport on mobo A1200 or that with adapter on V1200?

Easy to explain. The CPU just doesn't pass on some accesses when it sees that they go to the Amiga custom chips but redirects them to the FPGA-internal Gayle. This needs to be made on a little more detailed level such that the required functions on the Amiga-PCB still work and only those that are provided by the V1200 itself will be redirected. Don't worry, it will work just fine soon.

I doubt all the signals to and from Gayle are available over the trap door system bus, so it can't all be implemented in the FPGA if I'm correct. As Nixus Minumax says the Vampire 1200 memory controller will need to be able to use parts of the Amiga Gayle as well as the cut down Vampire Gayle if they can be made to work together.

Will test the clockport with a Melody soundcard. :) Are the Roms required for booting?

The operation principle is the same for the all V2 models, i.e physical ROMs are not used. But this is a beta core stage now for V1200, goal is make V1200 to read ROMs from the motherboard and patch them with Vampire libraries.

EXTERNAL LINK  Ordered one of these for v1200 Ethernet. Guess my rastport right angle pcmcia adapter goes to Amibay. Ok by me. Makes the 1200 even more sleek without it.

It is currently not in use, neither PCMCIA or clockport because GAYLE implement is not fully finished yet.

When it is finished I'm assuming that the A1200's motherboard IDE will work? For various reasons I would prefer to use it despite it probably being slower.

Yes, having the motherboard IDE to work together with V1200 IDE is a long-term goal. But as usual, please always make a buying decision based of the features which it has today and not what might come on the future.

How about ACA500Plus with Vampire 1200 V2?

Nope. It does not boot (as expected).

Is there a list of limitations? First time for me to read PCMCIA does not work together with V1200. I would not have ordered it without PCMCIA working. :(

Lets be clear here PCMCIA is working when you disable FASTIDE.
There is little more test from us need to have both enabled in parallel. Its matter of time for both run in parallel.

If you can not wait for this then is OK too.
This is no problem, we can then cancel your order. ;-)

I would be highly surprised if the PCMCIA slot issue was not fixed. I got my v600 with 3686 GOLD2 back in 2017 and it has massively improved over the last 3 years to the current Gold2.13rc3

Yes exactly.
The current 1st V1200 core is very fast and very good already.

As the V1200 card is brand new, it goes without saying that some features are still in testing and will be finish with the next core update. Happy V1200 owner can upgrade their core soon and take benefit of this.

This follow our normal "Vampire" tradition - providing core updates regularly.

Let's test how ADoom runs on Amiga 1200's AGA chipset with V1200 (Gold 2.12RC3 r7258x12).
