Vampire V600 Bolt Mod

Since my Vampire didn't stay clipped on the 68k CPU, I already tried sanding the socket, double sided tape but nothing would work for me.
So I made a mod to attach it with a bolt.

First, I cut out the brown plastic in the center of the socket:

After that I used epoxy to glue the bolt to the 68k.

However, this didn't seem to stick as good as I thought, so I sanded/cleaned the 68k a bit and used superglue in the end.

Just to fill up the space I put a rubber ring in the socket:

After that I put the V600 over the bolt:

Than the some spacer rings/nut:

And a last picture with everything connected:

Here is the complete album as well:

Nice mod, bit extreme, but it will stay stuck now :)

I have the same problem as you Sachsa with my A600 rev 1.1(A300) motherboard. This MB one is recapped :(
On my spare A600 rev1.5 motherboard I have no problem at all? It snaps very tight on the CPU!
I have no mounts received with my V2!

  What is your motherboard rev?

I have two rev1.5. One snaps on really tight, the other is so loose it falls off at the slightest nudge. It seems like everything is just down to tiny variations in the casing of the 68000.

You're right indeed it must depend on the quality of the 68K housing that was used during the A600 assembly. Making this independent of the A600 board revision.
So it's somekind of lottery if the V2 board snaps right on the 68K CPU :-)

I might have to try this myself.

Had to move my A600 the other day and it seems to have come loose again.

Versions for A1200/CD32/A4000 would be very welcome!
