I think the A3000 is the most beautiful of all the Amigas. My personal opinion.

Yes it is :) Never had one, but was always most desired, and with Vamp it could be 060+(S)AGA, and just the DSP is needed to be real A3000/4000+ :)

But even V2 is great with RTG, fast mem etc. It turns barebone A3000 (esp. 030/16) to a beast!

Agreed. I got the 030/25. And bought lots of stuff for it.
  - BuddhaIDE
  - SCSI2SD
  - BigRAMplus
  - ZZ9000 ( in the mail )
  - 3.1.4 roms

Warp 4060 from CS Labs is what i am waiting for now, seeing as Vampire for A3000 is years in the making .

A3000 rules for sure!
Although for now I am very happy with my CheckmateA1500 case + A500 VampV2+! Very similar looks - that's as close as it gets from a vampirised 3000!

I am so sorry you feel like your Amiga 500 is not sexy enough in her own shell that you feel you need to put her in surgery and change her look.

NOT ME...NO!! - hugs my A500 - I love her THE WAY SHE IS! IN HER OWN SHELL...HER OWN - drooling - Commodore keyboard style case....- drooling -....I just love my Amiga 500 the way she is...and have external stuff all over the table....

I have my A500 *my actual first Amiga, yep the VERY same one still own it to this day* and my A3000 (same deal, I am the one and only owner since it was brand new) and they both sit side by side happily and they are both very gorgeous to me in very different ways .. my two girls.. :-D  though the A3000 is a bit jealous since the A500 got vamped..

Based on the V1200 a version for Amiga 3000 and AMIGA 4000 can be done.

The V4-SA = "Standalone" is targeted to be a new complete AMIGA system.

Does that mean that announced V4 based cards for existing Amigas are postponed, cancelled or...?

Postponed yes, by order of priority and ability to test core, adjust it to certain models, produce and ship.

  Cancelled, no.

Or in other words SA is just first V4 model.

Hi!  Is there any update on when then Vampire 1200 v2 is due for release via resellers?

This board should be in high demand. I believe the a1200 users were the most active amigans in the
classic community until the v600 push the a600 users to the top..

I'm pretty sure the demand for the V1200 will be high especially for repeat buyers like me. I already have a V500 for my Amiga 500 but I'd like a V1200 for my Amiga 1200 as well.

Is the v1200 in production now? Is there a possibility to get one this year?

Some members of the Amiga community have already passed away and none of us is getting any younger (i'm dealing with cancer). When your target market is dying off before you can get your products to market it's a sure sign you need to increase your team size and development rate.

Sorry to hear about your situation Tim, hope you beat it.
You are right, this seems to be what may have affected Jens. Too long in development and others are now quite capable of filling the void.

Warp accelerators on the horizon as well as many other development boards etc.
are now coming to fruition ,and who knew, that an embarrassment of riches is finally coming to Amiga. I’m sure you Apollo guys are ready for the challenge.

Damn Tim, I hope you beat it too.

It reminds me of OS4 back in the day. Kept getting photos/videos of it in development, but by the time it was released I was no longer in a position to buy it.

I fear the A1200 Vampire will be the same. I am trying to keep the money I have for it to one side, but eventually I may have to dip into it, priorities etc. Despite it's obvious advantages, I am also tempted to just get an ACA12xx as it would meet all the needs I have for my Amiga at the moment.

However I want to also help advance the Amiga and have access to easy connections to my monitors (rather than flicker fixers etc). Not to mention having RTG in my desktop A1200!

My thoughts on this;

I will just leave my original hardware "as is", and go for Standalone.

Having a realitively expensive piece of hardware rely on decades old hardware, seems like a gamble. ;)

Wish you the best of luck and health Tim!

Well, it is a gamble.

I have a serious eye issue (no less th72hz!) so I feel ya.
Fpu seemed out of v2 reached, it came in 6-12 months.
Maybe gold3 alpha was needed to test, maybe it was too early.

Fact is v4 core is in early phase, without it finalized, there can't be no v2 backport.

Nagging won't make it faster, just like in mmu and other cases.

Too bad there is not too many rtg games

Looks like aeon/hype game, but Apollo boys deliver. Major difference. I might not see a prepaid os4.2 and promoted libre office port to os4, six years passed. But I am kind of sure 2020 will see both v4 core developed and v2 backport
