Hello, Im having som serious issues with my vampire card. Firstly they card has always been very unstable (tried with different psus. and it also has the cap mod.
I thought that maybe the core was bad and tried to upgrade it. But during the upgrade the card crashed and got bricked. I tried to flash it from a usb blaster. But I get a message can't access JTAG chain. Opening the chain debug window and runnig the JTAG test reveals 2 unknown devices one Unknown_FE000001 och UNKNOWN_2000001.

Read the blasting guide on apollo wiki, sequence of actions matters.
Grab any fail safe jic x10 cores and try that. If that Is ok, try some experience modder and good psu and try x11 and x12 cores to find Best stability/speed ratio

I had a similar issue with one of the early vampire 600 cards made by kipper, it was very unstable no matter what i do, a new psu and capacitor mod did not help at all, the only thing that seemed to really work is the x10 core.

Seems your computer does not detect USB Blaster. There can be many reasons for that. Wrong settings on the Quartus, drivers are not installed, faulty USB cable, pins are bent, Blaster itself is kaput, etc.

When PSU, motherboard, etc. are OK, very often root cause for the instability with V600 is a bad connection on the CPU socket.

Make sure you're using the 13.1 version of Quartus II, also you may need to run it as Administrator.

Thanks for the replys and suggestions.
I tried with the safe JIC.
Tried a different usb cable for the usb-blaster.
Tried to installa quartus II on a different computer.
Yes its version 13.1 Im running.
The computer detects the  USB-blaster and appears in devices as working unit and drivers are correctly installed. The blasters seem to find the chips but they appear as unknown.
Should i order another blaster ? Any other suggestions ?
