| Hello i'm wondering if anyone has had the same problem i'm facing at the minute.
Just got my A600 board back after a recap, so straight away installed the Vampire, secured it with the supplied support screws. Once i booted up i got nothing, only a blank screen. My TV didn't give a "No Signal" (SCART) message but i could see a blue and red LED glowing from the Vampire. I took the Vampire out, booted again then was greeted with the "Insert Disk" animation.
Has anyone had this and how did you rectify it? I currently don't have a CF card installed because a pin snapped on the adapter so should got a new one arriving tomorrow and a bigger 32gb CF card.
Also since i've just received the Vampire would it come with the latest Core (2.11) pre-flashed??? I've bought a USB blaster but was just wondering if there is a way to tell which Core is currently configured to the card.

No Vampire logo on the H.D.M.I out?Can you get to the Early boot menu (both mouse buttons held), it will display on the RGB output.

Actually haven't tried the DIGITAL-VIDEO out yet on RGB, been searching the previous posts and some guys thought the mounts were to high and not gripped the CPU enough while installing.
I'll give the DIGITAL-VIDEO a go and failing that i'll try it without the mounts to see if it'll go lower.

| You may not get anything out on RGB, If you're attempting using coffinOS it will default to H.D.M.I. output and blank out the RGB. If you use the Early User menu, you can start without startup sequence and if everything is working right you should get an amiga shell on startup.

| Well i had it working on both RGB and DIGITAL-VIDEO without the mounts about 10 mins ago (now i know i have Gold 2.11), i've sanded the mounts down a little bit, reinstalled them and when i boot the blue and red LED light up. What does this red LED mean is it a error/bad connection signal? I had this early when i first installed it. At the minute i don't have an hard drive installed, just gotek

| Finally got it working, after lots and trial and error there was a tiny gap between the socket and motherboard. Finally just gave it a really good push on all sides then heard a "crunch". Looks like its sorted. Really didn't want to push it that hard since i was scared of damaging the board but thanks for you your help.

If the motherboard is out of the case and sitting on a firm flat surface then it shouldn't be an issue.

It is important that you place the motherboard on a flat surface and press firmly with your thumb on the card, just over the CPU. You should feel a firm stop or even hear a sort of click when it sits correctly. The screws supplied are there to help reduce the movement of the card. So don't tighten them as hard as possible. Tighten them enough that you feel the card will not slow pop off the cpu if bumped. It is well worth considering having your A600 recapped if it isn't already. I also cleaned the pins of the 68000 CPU to help with contact as the light corrosion that is almost certainly there can cause intermittent contact and instability after some time.

| Yeah it was in its case and stable. Its been recapped so all is good now. Yes it has been freshly recapped, only got the motherboard back yesterday after it being away for over a month.
My new problem seems to be my workbench CF is pushing pins out the rear of the adapter when i install it. Already broke a pin last night. However thats another problem, Vampire is working so all is good now!
