| I don;t know if it's related to the vampire or i'm just missing something, but i have a problem with backdrop pictures. I'm trying to set up a OS3.1 system on my A500 with memory expansion and the vampire accelerator. Everything is working well so far, exept when i try to ad a backdrop picture. Doesn't matter what kind of backdrop jpg or gif or bmp, with every picture i try my A500 freezes. I have added the jpg, gif and bmp datasets from OS3.9

| see if the problem happens with your 68000 cpu, if it does, then its not vampire related

| I would also check your JPEG or JFIF data types. Even try alternates, paying attention to 68000 and other variants. Try 68020 versions vs. 68040 or 68060 (Sys:Devs/Datatypes) Also make sure you are using the OS default picture.datatype in Classes/Datatypes

Try a jfif EXTERNAL LINK or some other "clean" datatypes. 040 versions usually work best with Vamp.

| setting up AMIGA OS with all drivers and datatypes from Aminet is a lot of work. Did you try COFFIN? Coffin saves you all this work

| Yes i do have coffin, it's on my other CF-card. Just plug in and play, but it's more for my learing experience, that i'm trying to setup my own OS.
