A600 Vampire V2.1

Apologies if this has already been covered elsewhere.

I just got an A600 and a Vampire V2.1 with Gold 2.11 and I am trying to get the device to display from the DIGITAL-VIDEO port from on my 55" OLED TV from booting and from a fresh install of AmigaOS 3.1.4.

When it boots, the device goes through the normal booting motions, but the TV (connected through DIGITAL-VIDEO) only displays the Vampire / Apollo Core boot splash screen, never switches to Workbench (even though it is booting in the "background").

Am I missing something obvious to enable the DIGITAL-VIDEO output?

Thanks

Have you downloaded and installed the SAGA driver, you also need picasso software as well to use the RTG side.

You can online search for "Coffin"-images ready to flash to a Compact-Flash.

Coffin is a great Workbench setup, perfectly configured, looking very sexy, with lots of tools, programs and games pre-installed.

Downloading Coffin is probably the easiest way to get a perfectly running AMIGA system.

Thanks - can Coffin be installed on top of AmigaOS 3.1.4?

Coffin is based on OS 3.9
3.1.4 is just 3.1 based.

3.1.4 might be a downgrade compared to 3.9

As plain OS, feature wise, it is.
However, some of its bugfixes can be applied to OS 3.9
Maybe this script can be adopted to Coffin?

Sadly, Coffin cannot be installed over any existing AmigaOS as it is AmigaOS installed itself. There is no upgrade route. So build your own OS OR use Coffin.
But other way around, OS 3.1.4 updates put to Coffin could work. If someone is willing to try the provided script. Surely, so OS 3.1.4 updates could work an Vamp ROM update is also required (as with any Amiga)

Surely, you could do a plain OS 3.1.4 too.

Absolut not true!!! This can be only said by someone who did not use it. :)
3.1.4 is much better than 3.9, but the perfect combination is to put 3.1.4 & 3.9 together to have the best AmigaOS ever made.

Coffein is nice, but it seems for me that the people nowadays are to stupid to even install an AmigaOS. Welcome to the future, i can recommend the movie Idiocracy. ;)

That is quite true (*that I have not used OS 3.1.4.)

I am eager to learn of adventages of 3.1.4 to os 3.9.
I do get it has few bugfixes to OS 3.9, but feature wise is as "clean as OS 3.1" + theme?

Installing AOS was always easy. Customizing it and enabling add on hardware (while maintaining stability) was always a "mans job". Too bad latest AOS by update date cant see via autoconfig existing expansion and download few drivers for it. Or have 080 SAGA drivers and support built in. Maybe next "enhancer edition" that would require OS 3.1.4?
