Huh? I'm not sure if it's a language issue or something, but I'm feeling like there's a bit of confusion in this thread.

I'm under the impression that the first video in the original post is showing a test version of a Vampire 1200 V4. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Then 5 posts back, Stefano Briccolani's comment of "This is a Majsta project. It's not a v4, but surely is a step ahead from the v2" is in reference to the video he linked to showing the Vampire 600 V3 which is unlikely to get released.

As far as we all know the Vampire 1200 IS a V4.

V1200 from Majsta is more like V3. Somewhere in the middle of V2 and V4.

Same FPGA as V4 but same SDRAM as V2, etc etc.

I think the plan is to have one less expensive version of V1200 aka the V3 and a more expensive one aka the V4.

The V2 and V3 cards are made by Majsta, while the V4 card is made by Ceaich.

Very nice and unexpected developement, basically an enhanced Vamp V2 for A1200. Since AGA is already there, nice offfer.

Hmmm, I think I'd still get one of these for my A1200.
Though, I'm unsure if there is any benefit over my V2 in my A500, except for maybe the pcmcia slot and already having 2MB chip (oh and AGA of course).

Does the card use AGA from the A1200 or from the Apollo core?

Does the A1200 PCMCIA slot still work? I use it to transfer data with my PC via CF card.

PCMCIA slot works on V600, I don't see reason why on V1200 will not

I hope this will be available before iComp's rumoured CPU-less 040/060 accelerators.

...say whaaa…? I have a box of 060's that I've been dreaming of using.
maybe I won't have to bother sending off my blizzard 040 based cards for de-soldering after all?

don't worry, i'm still well in the market for some vampire 1200 shenanigans! :D

<edit> just can't stop staring at those Vamp 1200 prototype boards...

I have noticed that all the Amiga classic compatible Vampire's i've seen are V2. Will classic Amiga models ever get V4 versions?

The only V4 version i've ever seen is the stand alone. Am i missing something?

They have V4 planned for the 500 and 600 and 1200. The 500 should also work on the 2000 and possibly 1000.

It’s just that the focus right now is on the stand alone. If you look closely at the stand alone it already has the holes for the 68000 socket interface and will just not populate the 2 joystick ports, so minimal changes to get from standalone to 500.

so, whats the deal with the A1200 connector these days?... has there been enough questions asked of suppliers that someone's finally thought "hey, there's a buyer for a thing that doesn't exist here, maybe I could get on and make some and sell a few!"

Individual Computers want some,
Warp A1260 guys want some,
even our own Apollo team...

there is only so far that the last few packs of NOS scavenged off the old factory floors can go right?

I believe they have found a supplier that can manufacture them, so supply is not an issue.
