Dear Mr. Vidanovic,

I made my pre-order at Vesalia already, placing myself in a queue.

I have two questions concerning the purchase of V4 Standalone:

1) Do You plan a bundle containing V4 Standalone (with the case possibly too) and AmigaOS1.3-3.1 / Kickstart1.3-3.1 proprietary files (owned by Cloanto)?

2) Do You plan to bundle V4 Standalone with Vampire-branded, compatible keyboard and mouse?

For keyboard and mouse. This campaign is what you are looking for EXTERNAL LINK

@Michal Pietal

Vojin Vidanovic is one of many members of this forum and does not have anything to do with Vampire production. He is not on the Apollo team and is not responsible for manufacturing or sales.

I would be addressing those questions to the retailer with whom you've registered interest with. Ultimately they will be the ones responsible for creating any bundles with the Vampire.

Gentlemen, please lets try to stay on topic here.
Let us focus in the threat on "V4 Standalone" features.

Regarding Resellers as VESALIA, the AMIGA market is weak and  unpredictable today.
I fully understand that resellers like VESALIA want to evaluate the market volume before they make a commitment.
They have to decide whether to put 50 or 5000 V4 on stock.

The Vampire is a new driving power in Amiga market.
Our goal is to revive the AMIGA and I see this also a chance to work together with several Amiga companies and to work on producing Vamps  en mass.

But please let us focus on our development questions.

Hi Gunnar

I already asked this once but got no answer.

I would like to set up the Pi-Top (Laptop Case) for the V4 Standalone. And I wanted to start planning.

Information about GPIO, etc. would be useful to me.

Are there any information I could have to know, what kind of drivers I have to write and what kind of connections are possible (Trackpad, Monitor, Keyboard, etc.)

From what we know, you’ll have USB for keyboard and mouse/trackpad. Display with Hdmi port. I suspect the biggest headaches will be whether it will fit in the limited cavity space of the Pi-top, and you will need a way to route the power jack and the 2 joystick ports out to the back (you’ll probably need to cut new holes for them).  Likely the power board that comes with the pitop won’t be able to power the vampire directly (that’s a guess, depends on how it hooks up, and what it can put out. I’ve never looked closely at the internals of the Pi-top).  You will also need a space to put whatever IDE devices you plan on using (SD or Cf card adapter).

How good is the screen on those things anyhow? Do they refresh fast enough for game play??

Anyhow I suspect it’s going to end up being a very tight fit if it fits at all... I suspect you will have more luck with the old original version (where the Pi right on the right side) than the v3 (the one that had the extra circuit board and cooling system). That board on the V3 plugs directly into the Pi and I don’t see how you can drive the keyboard and display without it. With the older version things are linked with cables so there is more likely a chance it’ll work.

But definitely let us know how you make out if you try it!!

I’m personally thinking of trying to make a laptop out of it too but was planning to get a bare panel and design a case that I can make using my Cnc machine and 3D printers.

Any sort of status update coming on soon on this? Did the boards with the updated power plug come back ok? Are we truly imminent with them still coming roughly "end of summer" (which unfortunately is quickly coming and I haven't done SQUAT to enjoy it, sigh)...

Just wondering!

Dear Michael, I am not a dealer or Apollo team member, also a customer.

I can say that Amedia already offers 1) for +35e with v2, so I see no reason why not with v4

2) Team has one demoed small case, but I find it unatractive.

Amedia is offering similar FPGA bundles, not currently with a Vamp, but I hope they will think of something.

Vesalia hopefully too, altough I prefer to build it in Serbia and source components.

Hi - I'm searching for a definitive answer on whether the Vampire Standalone is compatible with the Keyrah.  My plan is to use the Vampire in a new A1200.net case and hook up a 1200 keyboard via the Keyrah.  I notice on the Apollo Public Wiki that "Keyrah v4" is listed as compatible/recommended hardware.  However, I've searched and can only find the Keyrah v2B as the latest model.

Pretty sure that’s a typo on their part and they mean that the Keyrah will work on the Vampire V4.

Happen to need an A1200.net case and keyboard still? I’m looking to sell a white case and a UK keyboard right now... I’m in New Jersey, USA.  $70 for the case, $50 for the keyboard (+shipping).

Hi Mike - I'm good thanks.  I backed the second campaign they ran so should be getting a black case and keycaps in November hopefully.

Would be nice to have some options on what sort of v4 configuration we could buy.

1. u get what is planed now
2. we just get the hardware and instruction on how we custom it to work with aos 3.x and nothing else just that hardware. Maybe some DIY options.
