N00b Mistake

I just received my Vampire 500 V2+, installed it and took my compact flash from my A1200.  It booted straight into Workbench extremely fast..  So I'm happy (all of this was on a CRT monitor with no DIGITAL-VIDEO hooked up).

I then decided to try out Coffin R53 and proceeded to boot from a freshly made CompactFlash.  To my surprise, nothing showed up on the screen.  Instead of hooking up DIGITAL-VIDEO (which is what I should have done in hindisght), I made the incorrect assumption that the firmware of the Vampire must need updating.

I uploaded the latest 2.10 core to the Vampire, hooked up a DIGITAL-VIDEO monitor and everything is in black & white.  I've read that this is because the Vampire isn't registered.  I've also read that newer Vampires will be pre-whitelisted.  I don't seem to be able to register the unit as the website seems to be down.

My assumption is that because this Vampire is so new, the serial # wasn't included in the latest build, if this isn't the case can someone offer a helping hand?

This isn't a n00b mistake at all.  You did what is expected: updated to the latest core.  Registrations are no longer possible through the website so I would contact TuKo here or on IRC at Freenode in the #apollo-team channel.  Give him your vampire card serial number.  In the mean time, you can use the original core version that came with your card to get colour back.

This can be solved.  You are not the first with this situation and for sure you won't be the last.  Maybe TuKo is reading this in which case he can help.
