Changelog of the GOLD 2.10 release

a) Turrican 3 bug (fixed) (Thanks Daniel for the report)
b) Hybris music sometimes to fast (fixed)
c) Chipmem sometimes wrong detected (fixed)
d) Support for 4 Speed modes on IDE

Mode-0 = PIO-0 (default)
Mode-1 = PIO-4 (recommended for HDs)
Mode-2 = PIO-5 (recommended for CF)
Mode-3 = PIO-5+ (when fast is not fast enough)

How to poke the IDE:
  EXTERNAL LINK
  from CLI
  Mode 0
  apoke $dd1020 2 $0000
  Mode 1
  apoke $dd1020 2 $4000
  Mode 2
  apoke $dd1020 2 $8000
  Mode 3
  apoke $dd1020 2 $C000

4000 should be safe with Hds
8000 is on the edge for some HDs
  8000 is mainly for CF
  C000 is pushing CF

Also for CFs:
EXTERNAL LINK
will speed up read speed.

There will be a core 2.10 for v600 that will allow to enable fastIDE even on the 600 original ide?

Will we have a downloadable version of the new core 2.10 x12?

You probably won't be able to achieve the speeds of modes 1-3 mentioned in the first post on the A600's onboard IDE without data corruption or loss. You may get some speed boost but not up to 11MB/s. Those will more than likely only be achieved using the Vampire V2 500+'s onboard IDE.

However, all v4 Vampires will have this EIDE port and should be able to reach the max. Its great news.

Even a small increase on ide performance on v600 will be greatly appreciated
