Hi!

This might seem like a stupid idea or suggestion but I was wondering when the stand alone version is ready it might be possible to develop a PCB as a direct replacement for a standard laptop main board? I would really like a laptop 68k Amiga.

I was thinking some crowd funding maybe. As for the technological challenges I dont know how to solve them but I bet people here can have an idea.

In my mind I would pick a big selling brand and model (long life business model) for a laptop to make sure used units can be found worldwide, spare parts available for years.

Guess the main challenges would be:

Connections and drivers for the LCD
Connections and drivers for the keyboard and touchpad and other buttons
Connection to the battery and charging system
CD/DVD is in my opinion not too important

The hardware design including aligning external ports etc would be a minor problem in my point of view.

Would something like this be possible?

Cool! Will repost there instead. Don't like the idea of using some special LEGO-build-your-own-laptop though. Rebuilding a high-end laptop widely available would make the nicest units imho. Just ripping a HP or Apple laptop apart replacing the inside or parts of the inside.
