Mist with it's option to change chipset and cpu comes already closer to this than any Amiga I ever owned came. It doesn't run stuff requiring 68040 and Higher however

Mist does not run a lot of stuff, in general. PFS, SFS, KingCON, FBlit, ... it has a lot of compatibility problems, and is basically dead (no serious development since a long time).

@Emufr3ak -

I think you will find that most Amiga software will run, for one of three reasons:
  - it was written properly in the first place
  - it has issues that can be overcome in the Apollo core
    (for example blitter timing issues)
  - it has issues that can be solved via the WHDLoad software environment

Best is just to wait and see what feedback comes out on the V4. Ask questions on the software that is important to you.

Cheers!

Ok thanks to everyone.

I'll definitely have a close look at the card as soon it gets released.

Vampire looks like a possible improvement. I'm also excited about running New Software and Games that were not possible on Amiga before of course.

Hi Emufr3ak,

So, how does this grab you, in regards to future potential???

Hi Vojin,

Oh ABSOLUTELY (on BOTH counts)!!!!

That is better than even PlayStation 1 can do, in 2D, that is!!!!!

And that is TOTALLY an acceptable level of performance for how much they want for the standalone, in my opinion. And it will get better with newer models in the future!!!!!!!!!
