More Graphical Glitches In Vamp 2.

Ive finally got some OSs working on the Vamp 2 but ive been having some graphical problems... not so much in game glitches (ive hear that this can be a problem with old game on the new hardware, timing etc). Ive also got the latest core...

The problem Im having is this: Lots of little green pixels are flashing on the screen. and the problem worsens and varies when using different resolutions. It kind of looks like an Nvidia graphics card when its got overheating problems? This happens when I view via hdmi?

Thanks
Tony

This phenomenon is pixel noise and has its origin in transmission errors in the digital data stream from the card to your monitor. It usually gets worse with increasing pixel clocks (higher res, higher VFreq), bad or long cables and nearby sources of interference. Another important factor seems to be the monitor used. It looks like some monitors do error correction on the digital data stream which can alleviate the problem a lot while others don't do anything like this.

There are small hdmi amplifiers for less than 5€ that can reduce the noise or even overcome it.

you can also try another cable or another TV/monitor...

unfortunately none of my other hdmi cables fit on the vamp.. I could try unscrewing the floppy drive and giving it a go

Tony: i had similar issues with DIGITAL-VIDEO output. sometimes blackout for a sec, shaking picture, or red dots running on the screen. Majsta suggested the DIGITAL-VIDEO amplifier, and shorter cables. And oh yeah, it solved the problems :)
