I managed to get my Vamp v600 running but only by using this big ass cooler - on it - otherwise nothing else i do will make it run for more than 5 minutes at a go. Only problem is now i cant close my 600.. any ideas?? My v500 works like a dream and i am getting frustrated

Honestly, this looks like a warranty issue.
Getting that hot that it needs such cooling doesn't seem right to me.

My problem is that i am in Cape Town - so getting the player back is a bit of a struggle...

Mines stable enough with just a 25x25x10mm heatsink on it and a silent 40mm fan stuck in the top of the case.

Tried it both blowing cooler air in, and sucking warm air out and both allow me to run my vamp all day with no locking up or crashes

Can you please describe your issue in more detail?
What corruption?
What resolution are you using?
Did you apply the V600 CAP-fix?

Hi Gunnar
When i got the Vamp from Kipper it was running well - then I updated it to 2.3 or 2.4... Cant remember and it didnt work - You then sent me a safe core - that worked. Now i updated it to 2.7 and it would start up, run for 5 minutes, then freeze. I tried it with 2.8 and 2.9 and all the flavours of those cores and same thing. Then after restart it would get as far as loading WB then freeze, and then freeze at the splash screen. Caps were added and no difference, same story. I then added a big cooler (can add the pic if needed its posted a few replies in this thread) and it would run well for a hour  but then I would get gfx corruption in demos, best I describe it as erratic under stress - I am at work so will try and get a pic later. The res I am using is 720, I have the same setup on my v500 and there is no issues

Still sounds very similar to the issues I had when first going to Gold2 and most of these were solved by sanding the socket down to get a better connection. Then the issues returned when going to Gold 2.7.

Again re-seated it several times and it got stable but didn't stay that way for long.

I would double check the connection, clean the contacts, sand the socket down a bit if it hasn't already been done. I'm guessing that if the connection isn't great then once it warms up and expands the connection goes to shit.

Most of all my glitch/freeze/hang/reset issues were pretty much all solved by sorting the connection out (after doing the cap mod that is)

Doesn't cost anything to check it anyway. Before i done the sanding and re-seating I could rarely get it to boot passed the boot logo
