Gold JIC Files Required

Could anyone please provide the JIC file for Gold2.5 as my machine doesn't boot 2.7

It may be worth adding the JIC file for previous versions to the Wiki dowload pages. You have the files for 2.7 and advise people to have a blaster to recover if required, but do not provide the previous core files to be able to recover to an older version anyway.

Thanks

Also, before anyone says to run the flasher from early startup, this does not work as I can't even boot that far.

What exactly do you mean by "doesn't boot"
Can you describe this in detail?
Do you see the LOGO on DIGITAL-VIDEO?
Does the Floppy click?
Can you go to "early Boot Menu"

What other hardware have you connected?

Does the LED on the card glow?

What card do you have:
  - V600
  - V500
  - V500-2+

Did you apply the caps fix?

No cap fix as yet as was going to hold off this until testing it it worked or not first.

It loaded the splash screen logo but went no further. Floppy clicked for a while then it rebooted. Could access boot menu but it just hung when booting without startup

Managed to fix it in the end by disabling caches in the boot menu (this enabling turtle mode) which then allowed me to boot to Workbench. I could then flash 2.5 back to it from workbench again. Would of been easier with the files to flash with a blaster though.

It may be worth advising people that if 2.7 doesn't boot then they can flash back by booting with the caches disabled. This will at least allow them to flash back until they do the capacitor mod. As the current advice seems to be installed core, of it doesn't work then apply the cap fix. There is not really any advice other than that, and there is nothing to advise how to tell if the cap fix is even needed other than to try the core.

I am going to upgrade then anyway to try and resolve the DIGITAL-VIDEO randomly blacking out for a second quite frequently.

May be worth making others aware though as I can imagine there will be other people facing a similar situation. I have already posted over on the Facebook group to let people know they can use turtle mode to downgrade if required. Seems to work fine. Just tried it again, and again used turtle mode. Booted fine, just takes a long time to reflash

Hi there - This is my issue on the new 2.7 and a V600. I had some issues a while back where the core caused my Vamp to not boot and Gunnar sent me a "fixed" jic that worked fine. I updated my vamp last night - first with the normal core - Would not boot up at all, then with the fasted core - this will boot up . work for 3-4 minutes then lock up completely, i would then soft reboot it and it would work for a minute or 2 then crash and then it would work for a shorter amount of time every new restart till i have to switch it off as it just gives me the splash screen. I bought it from Kipper and was told its a black version so i thought i could run the faster core. The vamp gets hot(ish). Would i need to do the capping or is there something else i can try? my v500 i have no issues with

I would say that you need the cap nod doing. Going on what many are saying, then it is most of the earlier boards from Kipper that had the issue with the wrong value caps.

If for the time being you want to get it working again until you get the mod done then try booting with caches disabled within the boot menu. Mine boots fine then and allows me to downgrade to an earlier core.

Also make sure to amend your SetPatch line in the startup-sequence as per the included instructions
