Using a fresh install of the last release of apollo/os when running quake got stuck at "initializing sound" ?

A/NES tried the 3 ver included pro cfx and normal and they don't work right are very slow and the nes grafics dont look right.

Also roadshow screws the igame loader when you try to load a game you get a nag screen demo mode popup from roadshow and the igame menu hangs.

RIVA when i run a video that uses a resolution bigger than 320x240 changes to a video mode that my monitor don't like i have removed all bad modes from picaso but im not sure what screen mode uses RIVA or how to  change what modes it uses by default.

The used mode does depend on your video.
RIVA will pick the "next" matching mode from the P96 list.
RIVA fullscreen will use a YUV version of 16bit mode.

What TV/monitor model do you use?

If your monitor does not sync the modes, I would propose to set Refresh rate of your monitor entries to 60Hz.

Thank you for your reply Gunnar and you where right.
I didn't know that different color deep modes in the same resolution could have different sync settings i forgot to setup other color deeps also. Now is working great :D

Also learn that when you run igame it call your S directory network shutdown script that launch the roadshow network stop command that is what show the popup nag. Igame don't seem to be expecting a popup so hangs.

Removed the network stop and start scripts invocation from the startup sequence and now works great igame.

Why not 24 bit?

YUV is 24bit quality in 16bit space.
