Rick Dangerous

Rick Dangerous is a platform game across over 100 screens, in which Rick has his gun in one hand, and dynamite sticks in another. You must take a methodical approach to clearing each screen, as there are traps in place which will need memorizing and preempting where possible. Use the dynamite wisely, for enemies you can't get into the purely-horizontal range of your gun.

Awesome game by Gouky

Runs on SAGA in nice 16bit color.

This game is now possible on Apollo cored AMIGAS. (This game has not been made or ported to the Apollo core 68080 Vampire (for Amiga) yet, and no one is planning to yet.)

Can we please have one game that is not about airplanes blasting other ships? A cool strategy/rpg game or an action rpg or a horror game or online game would be nice.

Hi John William,

My favourite games are turn based RPGs.

I found a list of games that have their code open sourced. (Well, anyone could have.)

The point is that Vampire opens up the possibility to an enormous amount of games that were impossible to do on 66 MHz 68060s.

You also shoud be able to play Doom, Doom 2, Quake, Heretic, Hexen, Worms and others om Apollo. I think there are also ports for Amiga. I currently try to get those running on my Atari Falcon 060... (Falcon 030 with ct60e turbo card, with 68060 CPU, it runs stable at 100 Mhz what is quite nice) Doom 1 with the shareware WAD file already works, but not with the full version of the wad file. Well, in fact there are more than a bunch of "retro style" commercial games nowdays on steam that can potentially run on a Vampire.
 
  I imagine Vampire gaming lineup ideally expanding in three steps
 
  1)Quick porting of famous formerly commercial and/or Opensource games to initially show it's potential (DOOM, Quake and the like). This point can happen in almost no time... and in fact it is already happening
 
 
  2)Less quick porting of licensed modern "Retro style" games. Steam is plenty full of terrific indie games that can be run on a Vampire system if well ported.
  At the same time game engines and emulators will be ported to the system (MAME, SCUMMVM, 8-16 bit computers and console emulators).
  I envision them more complex to port than already well known games.
 
  3)If both Vampire and licenced games sell well then we can start to have new commercial games written with NatAm... ahem, Vampire in mind.

There is also an Amiga version of this game that might run well on the Vampire cards. This is the pc version of "Conquests of the Longbow".

    Heroes Chronicles is another series of games that could be adapted to run on the Vampire although they were commercial games using the Might and Magic game engine. Should I say games similar to Heroes Chronicles can be made to run on Vampire cards, then game developers can do what they want.

  There are so many possibilities as far as games such as ones similar to my favorite mythological turn based role playing games, Age of Mythology, Age of Empires, Zeus, Cleopatra, Caesar II and Caesar III.

I've played Diablo to level 16 (never finished it), up to that point, didn't seem to be anything there that the Apollo 68080 can't handle, and the was a HUGE hit!!!!! (Sales of ~2.5 mil.) Diablo 2 could probably be done on the standalone as well (I've seen it but not played it). And Master of Orion 1 and 2 has been mentioned already.

The standalone makes games that probably altogether sold near a billion copies now playable, as even 75 MHz Amigas couldn't play them before.

AMIGA and Vampire need a "killer PROGRAM (app)" to gain genuine sales...

Any game made that can be run on the Vampire is possible to be "cloned" for running on 3.x GHz PCs and the video game systems out there for the last few years, except ONE....

And, it ALREADY HAS IT.......

(hint; I lied, it isn't a game)

When the Super AGA chipset is complete we will be able to play all the old Amiga games including AGA games. But what is even more exciting is that the newer games can be played that are RTG in 24/32 bit at higher resolutions! The Vampire cards will inspire developers and game enthusiasts to port older games or create entirely new games to run on this new accelerator card. The "killer app" is the Vampire card itself. It is going to attract a lot of attention in the near future.

It's not the old Amiga games that will be the main attraction of Vampire cards, but the newer high color RTG games! (I like old Amiga games too!).

But as far as I believe, our "killer app(sick)" is "near instant on".

No one yet knows how quickly the standalone will boot up in, but it should be under 10 and maybe as little as 4 seconds.

I think that THAT is a "HOLY GRAIL".
